Digital poweramp recomendations wanted please.
6stringbassist replied to 6stringbassist's topic in Amps and Cabs
These look quite good, but I'd like something half rack size. http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tamp_d1600.htm -
Digital poweramp recomendations wanted please.

Do they make one the same size as things like the Markbass amps and Benz Genz stuff ?. -
It's just an idea at the moment. Can anyone recomend a good, small and light digital power amp please. It has to have no fan, 'cos I hate them. Thanks.

My Sei has one, that's one thing that I really miss when I play basses that don't have ramps fitted. I use a more Garrison style tecnique.
Kev, keep it. AccuGroove cabs aren't all that! I have a Glockenklang 2x12" that blows away the 2 x Tri 112's for bass, mids, harmonics, overtones, and 3D upper registers. I found the 'Grooves very dark and very tight, there was not as much air between the notes that the Glock can deliver....IMHO.
I've never tried Glockenklang. I want to get away from big cabs, ideally I'd like two small ones so I can use one for small gigs and home rehearsals, and take the second one along for bigger gigs. I found the Epifani 1x12's very dark sounding, I want something more 'open'.

I've been deliberating long and hard about this, and my other gear. I play in a jazz quartet, a jazz trio and trio with myself, a jazz guitarist and a female singer. So this is really over the top. I really fancy something lightweight, hifi yet warm, and easily transportable. This is in excellent condition, one or two light scratches on the top where its been in and out of racks, none of these actually go through the paint, they're more scuffs than anything else. The front of the unit is perfect. It will put out 900 watts per channel into 4 ohms, so it's pretty loud. I'd like as close to £950 as possible, they're close to £2000 now with the current exchange rate. Or trades welcome for a Markbass F1 or a UL502, 'cos I love the sound of the Epifani stuff, I just want something a tad smaller.

I'd like to try one or two. I'm looking for something super uncoloured sounding, I'm probably going to go for a couple of Accugrooves, but I'm kind of interested in Acmes, they always get mentioned when people talk about uncoloured and transparent sounding cabs. I'd be using my Epifani head with them.
I heart the Gallery, I don't think I could live without them! Er, and any comments along the lines of "they won't be around for more than a couple of years" are massively out of place, I was in there today and I've genuinely never seen it busier, within ten minutes Alex had sold a bass for approx £1200, sold a strap, some pedal connectors to me and had another two guys queueing up... I think the Gallery will be here for many years to come sir, M
I hope they'll be around for years, don't suppose my bank manager feels the same way though !.

I got this in PX for a bass a couple of weeks ago, it is in excellent condition and sounds amazing. I'd like to go back to Accugroove cabs though, I had a pair of Tri112's last year that I really regret selling,I have an Epifani 902 which is about the best head that I've ever had, and I'd love to pair it up with a couple of Accugroove cabs. The for sale price is £425, or I'd welcome a trade for any Accugroove cab, or Acoustic Image gear, particularly the Focus 1, or Bergantino cabs.
