1. Favouroonie places: 1. The Bass Merchant 2. The Gallery 3. Electromusic (Doncaster) 4. Norfolk Guitar & Bass Centre (Watton, nr Swaffham) 5. TMC in Coventry (Binley Rd) One of my all-time faves was of course, the Embassy in Mansfield - spent shedloads of dosh there! And of course, the Bass Centre when it was in Wapping, and their sister shop in Birmingham was superb back in the old days; Exchanges in Birmingham was incredible 20 years ago!

might still be interested boy!
4. Allo! Technically, it is a Series I bodied Roadie IIA - same spec as that genus!
5. Allo! Depped for http://www.themightypersuaders.co.uk last night at a mansion called Casewick Hall, just outside Stamford. Fantastic gig - we had Gizz Butt on guitar (ex Prodigy - he's one of the most incredible guitar players you'll ever witness) and their drummer is Spike T. Smith, of Morrisey fame who has worked with The Damned etc etc - awesome players. Typical function gig - 50th birthday etc in a marquee in the 27 acre grounds! Loads of great food (buffet then curries later on!) and a free bar - I don't drink on gigs as I was driving so loads of fruit juice! Loads of really nice ladies too...! There were a few musos there and I used my trusted blue Vigier (with Status Series II as backup) my Markbass stack without any support from the Electrovoice PA system and one of the guys (another fellow bassist) could not believe this to be the case so I think I might have converted him to the MB cause!
6. ..don't you mean `lead' balloon Marcus?! Thats how Led Zeppelin got their name - John Entwistle came up with it at a party, might have been Keith Moon though - read it somewhere!
7. ..you cannot have too many basses!!!! Superb instruments those Levins - highly recommended!
8. Allo! They are a very versatile bass - I've got 4 older Status models (where's Rich and Moo?!) and as a pro player, I use them for many varied projects - I think MK has come under fire for his sound over the last few years but having played a number of Kingbasses (including demoing Mark's very first Artist model on Australian TV) I found them fantastic - perfect for the applications you describe!
9. He used to use an early '60's Jazz bass (he had a collection of them) and a Trace rig on the Wham stuff. Always sounded great! I've heard it mentioned that David Paton (he of `Pilot' fame - remember `January'?) played bass on Nikita, or was it John Giblin?!!! Hmmm.
10. Euch! Fackin' 'orrible! Funnily enough, Royal Guitars built some stunning instruments but this is just awful! (imho). Fill those holes in and you've got a nice bass!
11. Alright Dave! Nick!
12. Allo! The new Starchild is now shown on the official JayDee website on the Custom page! Well done Moo!
13. Alo! I think the bass I want may be sold already....! Waaaa!
14. I use a set of PK-5s quite a bit and they are excellent; I'm also very lucky in that I've got a set of original Moog Taurus pedals (sadly needing a major overhaul) - obviously the Moog sound is amazing, especially through a big PA - however they are not as roadworthy as a midi setup like the PK-5 - I think the Footar could potentially be a good idea - I'd really like a pedalboard like that used by Chris Squire which is essentially a set of switches laid out in the same configuration as regular bass pedals. Nick
15.
You lot are soooooooo secretive...... come on spill spill spill!!!!!
Well, I'm in love with one of the new stock S2s! Won't say which one but its stunning!
16. Really stunning! Moo - did you specify the `striped' pickup covers; the original Starchild has plain ebony covers. I prefer the striped units - sets the colour off really well! Nick

19. Hallo! Won't let the cat outa the ole bag - however, Dawn called me back today with a value for said enquiry and I need to save a little bit more money as the bass I'd love is a little bit beyond my means at present! However, I am King Collector* and what I wants, I gets!!!!!! * good eh?!
20. Don't think I've got time to get down but some good mates will be there, Sean from Electrovoice, Colin Smith (CWS Systems) and Les Patterson will probably be there!
21. Welcome!!!! Nick!
22.
Hey, if Nick, Matt & I shared a house, we'd have the biggest collection of Status basses on the planet! Edit: Then again, there is that huge rack of the things in Rob Green's workshop - Now, if I had a crane........
...we'd have the biggest collection of basses on the planet!!!
23. Spoke to Dawn today `about a price'....! She was busy picking her kids up from school so she called me back but I was teaching so will try and get in touch tomorrow!
24.
This was my Stanley bass, I sold it a few years ago now, what a mistake. I wasn't playing it too often though, I was concentrating on my 6 string playing, and a bass like this needs to be played. I will get another someday though, for definite !.
Lovely quilt there!
25. Ah! The Stefano bass! Thought so! Nick (thinking about a Series II too!)
