  1. Honestly, I find it easy enough to do on the pedal itself, so I'm not fussed about the app 🀷
  2. I can't collect basses. I always have one I prefer anyway, but feel compelled to play the others for the sake of it. I sell anything I'm not really using, unless it's special or sentimental (like my first bass). I do now have two 'best' basses, but that's because I built one of them myself, but also I have intention of letting my Sandberg go. I have a backup bass too.
  3. Bit of an emotional one for us last night, it was the final gig for our original lineup. 😒 We've been together 13 years, we're all old friends that go way back, and it's been all good times and zero drama! The drummer and rhythm guitarist are taking a step back now though to focus on family and other commitments. It was a fantastic gig to finish on though! The best live music venue in town, and it was packed! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ
  4. Received the B2 Four on Thursday, unpacked it and shoved it straight on my board, and went in at the deep end at band rehearsal. Managed to get some usable sounds fairly quickly, I found the UI quite intuitive. I was absolutely gutted initially to realise that in memory mode, you can only trigger one patch at a time! No idea why they didn't configure it so any or all of the three patches on-screen can be used at once 🀦. However, with 5 slots in each patch and it being so easy to switch between patch and memory modes,I should be able to work with it no problem, will just need to approach it a bit differently. I'm really loving the drive sounds so far, which is my main need. Anyone got any tips on layering/configuring drive patches? Played around with it a little more yesterday daytime, and gigged it last night, and it sounded great! My patch for a more full-on distortion uses the Dark Drive, but I felt there was a bit of low end suck, so might have to combine it with a comp and EQ to balance it out. Overall though, very happy so far! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘Œ
  5. Gigged my now condensed board last night having removed some individual pedals and brought in the B2 Four. I still need to do some work on my patches, but it worked pretty well! The drive sounds on the B2 are ace! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ
  6. Looks cool I think! πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ
  7. Wow I love this! I had a green and a natural basic 4, the natural one was my first Sandberg actually, bought used in about 2010. Great basses, and the necks feel fantastic. I'm always keeping an eye out for a 5, but they come up rarely. πŸ˜… I've definitely seen older Sandbergs with maple boards though, or do you mean you think this was the first Basic 5 with a maple board?
  8. Thanks Sam πŸ‘Œ I will play the game with Thomann then ... πŸ˜…
  9. Hey guys, weird question..... I've received my B2 Four from Thomann today, but it has an EU adaptor with it.... I've just spoken to Thomann via web chat, and they're saying these units only come with an EU adaptor, there is no UK one available? Seems strange.... Could any of you that already have one of these tell me if that's true? Ta, Oli
  10. I've said it before, but I'm not a huge fan of the large pole piece Delano style Sandberg pickups. They have enough output, but are a bit flat and lacking in character and warmth. I reckon if you put a set of Alnico V pickups in there, you'd find it a different beast. The Glockenklang preamps are very uncoloured, so it should complement the core tone of whatever pickups you use.
  11. New out from Mooer, looks very interesting but unsure on whether it works for bass at present. https://www.mooeraudio.com/products/201.html
  12. Getting a J pickup rout done should be no problem for someone who knows what they're doing. Would definitely give you more versatility, especially with it being short scale it'll offer a bit more bite.
  13. Excited to receive my B2 Four tomorrow! πŸ₯³ It will be to effectively replace my long-serving B3, and a couple of drive pedals. I have band rehearsal tomorrow evening though, and won't have chance to play with it beforehand... Do I take it along and dive in at the deep end, or do I need to put some time aside to figure it out? I am fairly familiar with zoom products, and borrowed a B1 Four recently to play with. I mainly need to set up a light OD/crunch, a heavier OD/dist, and something chorusy.
  14. Awesome! How is it?
  15. Great job! I switched from fast fret to planet waves XLR8 years ago, because I got fed up with FF drying out, and the crappy plastic pots breaking. XLR8 is in a metal tin, much smaller, and the pad is almost like a latex makeup sponge. I'm still on my original one, and I must've had it at least ten years. It did start drying up after a few years and was a bit dirty, so I thought I'd be cheeky and email planet waves to see what 'magic' stuff it's impregnated with... To my surprise, they told me! Exactly as you said, it's just white mineral oil! So every now and then, I just clean the sponge and reapply some oil, and it's good as new. The sponge is starting to degrade a little bit now after all these years, so I might buy another one, but at Β£7.99 for 10 years use, it's pretty good value πŸ˜…
  16. That's really crap, I'd always found that group quite good for selling before. Why can't people just ignore it if they don't like it? Why comment? I still use it, but Facebook marketplace has descended into utter chaos. Inundated with messages from scammers from all over the world (well, mainly Africa it seems). However, I do generally get stuff sold fairly quickly, you just have to be prepared to put up with all the nonsense.
  17. So, I've just bought a B stock one from Thomann instead πŸ˜… Thanks everybody! πŸ₯³πŸ‘Œ
  18. Hey folks! πŸ‘‹πŸ˜ I'm looking at buying a Zoom B2 Four, but none of the UK retailers seem to have stock. Best prices and availability are BAX Shop and DV247; just wondered if anyone had any comments on either, or which is best to go with? Thanks, Oli
  19. Love the simplicity of that board Sam! πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ
  20. I was only looking at these Mikro 5 strings yesterday! I appreciate you've tuned yours differently, but do they actually work in standard tuning? Where do you find a string set the right length? Very cool things though!
  21. Thanks for this, that's how I was reading it too, but then I wasn't so sure πŸ˜…
  22. Hey folks! πŸ‘‹πŸ˜ I have a query about the B2 Four, and I'm struggling to find the answer. I'll try to explain myself, but might make a mess of it πŸ˜…. In the manual, it says that you can have up to 5 effects in each patch. What I want to know, is can you then assign a patch to each of the three footswitches to toggle on and off, or can you only use the footswitches to turn effects on and off within one patch at a time? I know you can change patches with the square buttons, but I'd really like to be able to assign a patch to each footswitch. Hope this makes sense! Ta, Oli
  23. It'll be fine, I've done it that way around before purely because it was the only way I could get my pedals to fit on my board. It's not like the compressor is going to change the pitch of the signal πŸ˜…
  24. I'm not fussed with amp and cab Sims, just effects, so sounds like it'll be just the ticket. Still in a quandary over whether this or the B2 Four would better suit my needs, and at the same time I'm still trialling the B1 Four πŸ˜…
  25. I don't know why Cort and Ibanez insist on using the MK1's so much, they aren't great and most people (not all) seem not to like them. They'd be better using some of their own brand soapbars, or charging a little more and putting something else in there.
