1.
I use Warwick Dark Lord 175 gauge strings on my 7er. Probably your best bet for a UK supply.. though you can also get heavy gauge strings from the likes of SIT and Conklin amongst others. Outlets for Warwick, you are looking at The Bass Centre and err Strings Direct I think.
Or go to my link for what's probably the best price.
 2. Et voila!
 3. He seems a little desperate to show off. The solo is actually rather sloppy, especially considering he even has a beat to play to.
 4. Clicky For something a bit different! recordings can be found on a link in the item description.
 5.
Well, they could see that if they looked on abay really.... The etiquette here as far as I have seen, is that you offer it for sale, if it doesn't sell, then put it on the bay. Most people, even then, will take an offer at the asking price from a BCer and end the auction. If it's an ebay only thing, it's best put in the ebay forum below this one. It's a bit annoying to look down the 'For Sale' list, see an item you'd really like, only to find it's not for sale here but on ebay, and then the seller keeps bumping it... Perhaps I'm just in a bad mood! Chris
Right, it's just that nothing seems to be selling on here and I need the cash sharpish.
 6.
What's the point? You think they'd just do a backing track.
Well i spose they must wanna make it seem live... but not even having your amp turned on is a wee bit of a giveaway
 7.
They played at my Uni, i dont think theyll be coming back.
No, you must mean 'performed'
 8.
OK, in recent years, it's not been great, but that was pretty good on the whole Great clip.
I would agree, though, that he doesn't particularly need fretless for what he does.
 9.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electro-Acoustic-Bas...1QQcmdZViewItem Quite a nice looking copy of a washburn electro acoustic with a ply top, but its listed as having "3 equalizer controls including; Terrible, Midd, and Bass" I'm sure I've done a few gigs with the "Terrible" control full on
Chuckle!
 10.
I love that lineup, but his fretless intonation live is unfortunately always pretty poor.
Check this out.
 11.
Couldn't have put it better myself ;-) Another issue for me:- Playing a Musicman would in no way make me a better bass player. When I think it would - I'll buy one!
Some have said that MusicMan does make you a better player because of the accuracy you need in your fretting at 'honkier' settings =] I love mine, so easy to play and everything cuts through so well. It's a bass for life!
 12.
Just my tuppence like, but I really enjoyed his performance... although I found the sloppy bongos and the lead guitar over doing it in his 15sec of fame a bit dodgy. And the fact that he wanted to put a slant on this frequently covered classic by using a fretless (and 2 drummers - ???) is perfectly ok in my book. And for an old boy his vocals kicked ass too.
Cream wrote that song.. If it was cream who were playing and not just some Jack Bruce sideproject? Cmon people, one of the most important bands ever! They always get overlooked.
 13.
If you're not actually selling it on this forum, why are you bumping it?
Um, so people can see what's for offer. Is it against the rules?
 14.
Shavo Odadjian from System of a Down... I think
Yeah, this.
 15.
If you look up some youtube videos, you should be able to observe how awfully crap his tone is. I think it's mainly down to the fact that he has crap technique, and needs some extreme limiting like they must use in the studio. This is off topic though, sorry!
You'd think, being in a metal band, that he'd want a bit more grunt in his tone, but no it has always been sludgy n 'orrible.
 16.
He has such a crap tone live anyway, always has!
Maybe cos he uses Ashdown amps and gibson Thunderbirds
 17.
There's plenty of people on here that would love to really set fire to ashdown gear lol lol
the only thing I like about them are the blue speaker cones and the funky dial. They sound (IMO) horrible. Notably whenever I've played one and when I went to see System on their mezmerise tour. No definition whatsoever.
 18. Damn I would have snatched this except I currently have negative monies.
 19.
right folks, the budget is £600 and i need a new bass (once my Clapton Strat is sold!) I fancy a the Warwick as the body looks slightly smaller,.......but i love Jazzes but find the body too big?? Advice/alternatives please????? Cheers Graeme
corvette $$ No worries.
 20.
Well to various degrees that's pretty much the same the world over. One idea may be to hire a place and put your own gigs on. Maybe you are surrounded by other orginals bands eager to play, and eager to bring their mates ... So how about organising a regular "First friday of the month" gig that you headline sometimes but also have aother like minded bands. If it's done in a well managed and entertaining way, and well publicised etc, you should draw a crowd .....
That's exactly what I'm doing with my band, except we don't have to hire the place and get to rehearse there for free. Clicky. I'm yet to update it with pics from the first two nights, but I haven't been given em yet! It's starting to gain momentum!
 21.
final bump before the bay...
Dammit! Why does all the cool fairly cheap stuff come up when I have negative moolah?? Can you hold off the bay way or at least link me to it on there in a weeks time?
 22. Which bassist have you really just started to click with that you wish you'd considered before? For me this would have to be Andy Fraser of free - such sublime rock bass! Everything he plays fits and I'm now sure is the driving force behind the band's groove, playing off everyone in the band yet maintaining his own personal genius.
 23.
Cliff Burton - Used to love the guy, but now I just realise he was a decent bassist who was simply louder than the rest.
Lol, well put!
