I am thinking of removing the pickguard on my Urge MX Bass , however there is a little bit of gap in the bottom of the neck join (see picture) , will it be ok to remove the pickguard , I dont want anything bad happening to my neck due to moisture getting in the gap , however it is not unusual to have a gap in the bass or treble side of a neck pocket so I do not think this will be a problem , what do you think?
I think you'll be ok

Tort P Pickguard - SOLD

I have a good condition Tortoisesheel Precision pickguard. Says Made in Japan on the back. I used to have a US Precision, and I honestly can't remember if it fit perfectly, I'm very picky about my tort, so only put it on when I first got it which was years ago. Has 13 holes, I'll try and get pics up tomorrow, but just a heads up for everyone. Looking for £18 posted Merci -
I'm selling my perfect condition of Standing on the Shadows of Motown, or whatever it's called! Features a CD, and transcripts of loads of Jamerson's basslines. This book doesn't have tab, I bought it with the intention of learning to read music, but thats coming on a bit slower than hoped! Looking for £20 posted, let's have ya!

I'll just chime in here even though it's an oldish post, and say what a great cause this is. I do volunteering for the alzheimer's society and i can say that all donations are very welcome! so well done basschatters

Hi Dave, Due to being really bored, I've thought about starting to build my own effects. Probably quite simple things first, but I was just wondering if you had any tips or advice. Sure, there's plenty on the web, but I thought basschats own pedal guru may offer some more?! Any thoughts on tools and things to get started? I'll probably pick up a breadboard firstly and work around with that...good idea?? Many thanks
Hey Everybody, I've decided when i grow up to be a big boy i want to get a sexy/chic valve amp with a bit of somethiong special to it. You know something that is easy on the eye and dosent look like i should plug it in to my telly for 5:1 or whatever surround sound. I've been risking a good hiding form my boss by looking at pictures on the hyper mega net of the following - Orange, Hiwatt and Matamp (i bloody love the look of these) Anybody paly through any opf these or anything along these lines? let us know, tell us what you think. Why (if) are they better than these new fangled doo dahs? lets discuss and then i can start putting away my pocket money into my midlands live cash acount and watch it grow.
What sort of budget are you looking at? and how loud do you want? i'm not sure if matamp still make bass amps, but i believe the 'vintage' ones go for top dollar. Orange may be your best bet. Produced here so it's quite cheap, and 200 watts should be loud enough for most gigs. There is also the usual Ampegs (the V4/V4-B/V4B-H) which are 100 watts, but all now discontinued. They can be had for around £500 if you look for them. But they may not have the 'wow factor yu're looking for. Just thought, there is also the Fender Bassman 135. A chum on here has one and I've gigged it and it's bloody loud! I believe he got his for around £300ish, but may be wrong. That's 135 watts of great all tube goodness. Loverly! Good luck in your search, I have a hankering for a valve amp myself...not that I even remotely need one!

He bought my old Jazz bass, really nice guy, pleasure to do business with!

Hi mate, Yeh it is, bit of finish checking on the body and a ding or two on the neck, but otherwise tip-top.

Hello friends. Got this from the States a couple of days ago. 1985 Gibson G-3, made a month before I was born. Plays and feels great, I love the big style body! Sounds very Fender Jazz, but that aint no bad thing. Quite a chunky neck, but my big hands can cope! Enough chatting...here's the pics. Excuse my dirty back yard!
