1. Bummox, they sold it on saturday and wont be getting any more - back to the drawing board
 2. As a newbie to bass myself (15 months in) I have 2 snippets of advice for you; i) DO NOT SUCCUMB TO THE EVIL THAT IS TAB!!! (TAB has it's place but it will help you in the long run if you learn the 'proper' notes and notation) ii) Find some guys to jam with, you will learn so much faster that way (and Bassists are always in demand) Good luck it's great

 6. Right guys, best I can find new is: Olympic White - £459 from Soundslive Fiesta Red - £442.75 from DV247 And yes the prices to seem to be higher in White ones. I've looked at Thomman, GAK, Dolphin, Nevada and Turnkey as well as the above. Anywhere else I should try? Anybody got a used one they wanna sell - CASH waiting I need to be pulling the trigger on a Mustang soon dudes (and dudettes).
 7. Basically I've decided I want / need / must have one (and it's my birthday so it's a pressie to myself) So where's the best place to go for one (I'm based in the UK) and yes, price is a BIG factor here Cheers in advance.

 9.
Sorry you've lost me, I don't know what you mean, I've played mine in all sorts of venues wihout problems and I've owned and played basses costing a lot more that sounded no better. Maybe there's a problem with yours that could be fixed without the need for a new bass. My main bass is now an Ashbory and if you like short scale and lightweight it might suit you too.
It's certainly possible and I can think of a few things to evaluate. The electrics may benefit from switching over to Gibsons original EB-0 schematics, it could certainly do with shielding and I suspect that the tape wound strings aren't grounding through the bridge. Having a 30k atrec pickup fitted hasn't helped matter too much (but man does it thump ). I can sort them all, and at some point i will, but I also want a second shorty. It's manageable in most venues but in places with induction loops fitted it goes bonkers.
 10. Cheers karl, it was likewise totally hassle free and pleasant. Hope you enjoy the bass. This should become the Thunder 1A thread as it's the same bass we're talking about
 11.
Why not? I use mine for 'serious' use and no one's said anything about it not being good enough - should I keep it just for comedy gigs?
Basically cause it picks up more E.M. radiation than Jodrell Bank, I've actually had to switch to another bass lately because of it. I tend to play in Churches mostly - induction loops play holy hell with it (no pun intended) . I won't be selling it as it's great to play and was a bargain. However the search for replacements just intensified as I've just sold my last long scale.
 12.
Has Dabootsy snapped this one up? If not, I'm in. My new bass plans have been foiled and this looks like the kind of bass I could go for - especially at that kind of price. Assuming the string action is easily lowered again (small, girly hands )
Dabootsy aint snapped it up yet bud. It's a well made bass so adjustments are not a problem - it will go lower - I raised it when I got it.. If you deffo wanna go for it then let me know. Cheers.
 13.
Oh I like that. Its even tempting me away from the Schecter I've been gassing for all month. What colour is it? The photos on the Cort site make it look a little greyer than the photos here?
It's basically a deep gloss black with big silvery 'flakes' in it - I think the white balance is off in the photo. It is a fantastic, underrated bass.
 14.
pmd ya
Replied
 15.
I was gonna ask how much you'd throw the spidey blanket in for too! Epic paintjob mate, I've always thought these basses were underrated...every one I've played's been a dream! Good luck
Cheers bud, it's a great bass, the thing a lot of people don't realise about the finish is that it's not a paintjob, it is the body material, that finish goes all the way through to the other side. And it is a very nice example - some of the ones I've seen are an, erm, acquired taste.
 16.
That's a really nice finish - good luck with the sale. You should throw in the Spiderman bedspread too.
Cheers mate, as to the bedspread, well it's the lads blanket and I like my nuts just fine where they are thank you
 17. Up for grabs is my last 'long scale' bass - I've now switched to shorties as long scales get uncomfy for me after an hour or so of playing. It's in as new condition, the finish is a nice one (they vary a lot), the neck is very skinny and very fast. If you didnt know it has a 3 band active EQ and Bartolini (MK1) electrics (with a switchable, adjustable, slap circuit) - a very versatile sounding base. It is also very, very light in weight and balances wonderfully when worn standing. It's about 16 months old and it has been fitted with elixir strings (I think - they are certainly unmarked after over a year of owning on the base). I also treated it to a pro set up when I bought it - frets levelled, action and intonation adjusted etc. so it plays very well, I have the action set a little higher than most as I am a very heavy handed player. It's still in the original box having been played carefully (church services mostly and a few 'proper' gigs) and looked after accordingly. Add this lot up and it aint cheap. I really need to sell it so I can get a decent quality shorty. Hence I'm giving it away at £200 posted (via insured RM post - if you'd prefer another method then we would need to come to an arrangement). Here's a review http://www.imuso.co.uk/directory/reviews/e...rt-curbow-4.htm
 18.
You are more than welcome to come over and try the Urge! You can also Try out my other shorties to get an idea of what suits you best! Fender Mustang reissue Landing L1 ( USA Custom made ) Gibson Supreme ( EB0 ) Eko ( Mustang style) Mustang-- Kalamazoo Frankenstang and I also have a Vantage 32" in the process of being restored. Will.
That is some seriously tasty basses. I hate you (kidding)
 19.
I have one in the for sale section! Will.
Oh I know, believe me I know ......... If fumps' buddy decides to have my Cort Curbow I could well be on my way to Leeds this weekend
 20. It does (kinda). Could I be a pain and ask you to measure the nut width please? Thanks.
 21. Why short scale for me? Well it's quite simple really - using SC bass I find myself focusing less on the mechanics of playing and more on the music, I can hear the (positive) difference, my fellow band members can hear it and hopefully so can my audience, and that's all that matters.
