    Here's my entry. Didn't do what I originally had planned as I reckon two tracks would be cheating so I've done this with just the one track.

    Also I hope folk don't mind but it says 1:02 but there's a bit of silence either side...I forgot to edit it out and I've now just realised I forgot to save...

    I try and take both of my basses out equally but about 80% of the time I take my ACG and leave the other bass in the house. Both of them work excellently for the music I play so I can get away with either.

    I actually generally take the other bass if I'm being a bit lazy as the filter preamp in the ACG can take some thinking at times.

    My experience with it was that I couldn't use the bridge pickup alone, even with the (very powerful) preamp set so that it shouldn't be a thin sound. Which was a real pain for me as I generally prefer the sound of a bridge pickup. The twin Jazz pickup was just way too close to solo.

    Just remembered I made this when I was trying to sell mine. It's literally just me pissing around playing whatever came to my head so don't expect an actual decent demo. All plugged straight into audacity. Ignore my shoddy playing too!

    It does. I say that as someone who has owned an 8lb thumb bass with an Ash body and Maple neck. It did have different pickup configuration which of course changes the tone considerably but even unplugged. The bubinga thumb bass sounded like a thumb bass. The other one just didn't. Great bass right enough...just not for me.

    I just found them a little heavy. I didn't have that much in the way of neck dive...but I do miss that bass.

    I wouldn't say it's inappropriate provided the person who originally sold it asked the permission of the buyer if it's okay to give you their details.

    I personally wouldn't feel offended even if they hadn't asked me. To be totally honest, I probably wouldn't even give it a second thought if I were in the position of either seller or the buyer here.

    I find them not as zingy as brand new uncoated strings but they do sound fresh for a lot longer than any other ones I've used.

    I feel with all other strings I've used I want to replace them within 2 weeks (or instantly in the case of Rotosounds) but Elixirs last me a good 8/9 months or so

    I can see why people don't like the zing of fresh strings but I hate when strings don't have that zing to them.

    As people have already said the little string noises will dissipate in a band setting but it doesn't hurt to get used to minimising it. Then you can decide if you want it or not. I like having it at times for making weird sounds with the envelope filter...
