There's only 2 things on it, so obviously the most useful are the tuner and drive. I could probably live without both if i had to though.

Not a tour poster with all the dates on, but i bought a poster when i saw Tyler Ward last year, got it signed by him and his band and also got a personal thankyou off him for being the life of the crowd. It's on my bedroom wall at the moment, but its my only poster that still looks brand new, and it's going to stay that way.

Right from the start for me, unless it's a cr*p venue and there's nobody in, in which case, i just have to try to stay awake.

The Nanos are TINY, but it makes complete sense if you barely need anything on your board like I do.

P!nk - Funhouse. Got a cover of it on youtube, and it was a challenge not to dance whilst recording it. That reminds me, i need to record some more covers.

My P bass came to me with an EMG pickup. If it didn't have the battery route on the back (Which reminds me, i haven't changed it in 18 months) i would've put a passive pickup back in, but i don't think the EMG sounds bad at all. I may try the Seymour Duncan Lightning Rods when i find the extra cash though. My Ibanez has had all of the original electronics ripped out, and replaced with a passive VVT circuit, but that's because i was bored and fancied something different.

I know how you feel on that one. When we're tracking we always either record scratch/guide tracks when doing the drums, or i just get the guitarist to play whilst i do my parts as well. I'm sure there's guys who can do fine with just the drums, but i'm not one of them.

Ordered though them a few times, nothing bad to say at all. Every time i've ordered it's been dispatched within 2 hours of me placing the order as well. Mostly just small stuff though, strings, mic stands, picks, etc...

One vote from me. I heard about this the other day and i'm trying to get a friend to sign up for the Manchester date. I could see Gabby being a brilliant person to be around backstage at a gig. Best of luck for the competition.

I got my Nano from Andertons, so they might be worth a try.

Major gas for one or something similar myself. I want a fretless hollowbody too.

The sales fee makes perfect sense to me. It's a service with a clear, quantifiable benefit (In the form of money in your pocket), which in many cases, is a pretty large benefit. £20 isn't too much to pay for something like that, IMO. I have noticed little bits of negativity and hostility here and there, but nothing that's really had an effect on my use or opinions of this forum. On the flip side, there's also threads (Particularly in OT) that put a smile on my face, because they really do show the community aspect of BC, which is something that's hard to achieve and maintain i'm sure. The mods, admins and everyone involved with the management and upkeep of this place is doing a brilliant job.

I always use the rehearsal rooms cabs, with my own head, partly due to not owning any cabs myself yet, and because they're decent. One room has a Peavey 1x15, and the other i've used has a nice SVT 8x10.

It is the Stageclix Jack system....I will look in to the possibility of an extension that will move it away from the actives

There's this one from Stageclix (scroll down the page a little) though i expect you could easily get the same for quite a bit less in other places.

The Stageclix came highly recommended, I brought one, but, and it is a big but, it doesn't work with 3 of my 4 active basses, it produces a very unpleasent high pitched whine with all but the Stingray bass, the dealer who sold it to me is currently asking Stageclix for advice as it could be I just have a faulty one

Is it the bug or the pack system? There's been a few things with the bug ones getting a bit of interference from being so close to the active circuitry, so they sell and extension cable and strap holder for them to get them further away.

Does it have strings - Yes
Does it sound good - Yes
Does it feel good - Yes
Those are my criteria, that being said, my main bass is a Fender....

A female fronted pop/punk band, so Paramore, We Are The In Crowd, Tonight Alive, etc... Well, either one of those or Shinedown.

I'm always interacting with someone when i'm on stage. Whether that's another bend member, or usually the crowd as there's no room 'on stage' so i end up somewhere else. I like simplicity when i'm gigging, so i can put all my focus on putting on a good show and not playing everything absolutely perfectly or which effect do i need next.
Liam -
My theory has always been that bass is easier to start but harder to master. I know a few people who agree with me on that too.
Liam -
I'm not a beginner but there's quite a few of us from around Bolton on here, and definately a good few from Manchester.

Why not do both?

If only i had the cash for that.... P bass on one side and a fretless jazz on the other maybe?
Liam -
I'm a righty but i sometimes debate on whether to get a lefty bass and learn to play that too. Partly because it'd be a challenge and partly because i could really f*ck with peoples minds on stage. I think it would be an intereresting spin (quite literally) on my bass playing and a bit of fun to try.

Greetings from over in Westhoughton. There seems to be a few more people from around here than i expected in the world of Basschat.

If liking the brass section is a sign of old age, i'm f*cked. I think it's quite good and interesting to see brass reappearing in pop music nowadays as well.

Don't forget that Mr Mars also penned 'Forget You' by Cee-Lo Green which also has a killer bass line! The man know how to write a hit, that's for sure.

Not strictly him, it was The Smeezingtons, which is Bruno, his backing vocalist Phil, and Ari Levine, who were responsible for i think 3 US number ones and 4 UK number ones, with 5 grammy nominations, in their first 2 or 3 years. I've been listening to his stuff since he did Billionairre with Travie McCoy, and loved his work ever since. Definately one of the most talented people in the pop industry at the moment.
