1. What you need to replace your Behringer depends on how many channels you're wanting to record. I use a Lexicon Alpha, which is just a stereo USB interface (Guitar and mic input, or line level for keyboards), running into Reaper, and i do all of my tone shaping using VST's in Reaper. I wouldn't recommend the Alpha though. It is a good interface, but there's much better out there, such as the Focusrite Scarlett series and M-Audio stuff.

2. I've got a set of Elixirs on my P. They've not lasted as long as I hoped, but i'm very good at killing strings (I killed a set of EB Slinkies in 6 days once) so they've actually lasted quite well. Only problem is that with the price hike, i think they're too much. I've been recommended to check out Cleartone strings as well, so maybe add them to your list?

Ay, I'd have a Musicman type custom. If they built them I'd buy one...but they don't.

They do, if you're one of their famous artists, but not for us normal folk. I'd go around and play loads of different basses, see what i liked, and either get a custom based on those specs, or see what you can get off the shelf, then bank the rest.

4. I use a grab stand like those, not Hercules ones as i'm cheap, but it's the exact same design as the first one, and i've only ever had 2 little problems with them. 1 of the arms on one broke after it got hit with a headboard and fell over onto a wooden floor with a bass in, and my 5 string Jazz doesn't fit as it's got a tree trunk neck. Other than that they've been as good as anything else IMO.

5. If i'm playing a bigger gig where i know everything will be through the PA, i'm more than happy just turning up with my bass and my pedalboard. Unfortunately when we're at pub gigs the PA can't handle it (Though that may change when we get back together), so i have to use an amp. I prefer not having one, it gives me more room to run around and less things to break.

We headlined the re-opening of our revamped city park this weekend.
They reckon there were 5000 people through the gates. It was a 40k rig.... and I was in bass heaven. :D

I must add a +1 to the beardage love. I've never seen that pickup combo on a bass either, something you found or did you decide to order it like that?

7. I don't mind them when they come on the radio or something, though I will admit, i ended up fast forwarding their Glasto' set after about 40 minutes, i got bored. So i think i can say that i can stand 45 minutes of M&S.

8. I use a Spider one that i got from Flightcase Warehouse. Rock solid and wasn't a bad price either. They don't seem to have them anymore but they're the exact same as the Stagg GDC-6 just with a different badge.

9. This is going to put it at about £20 for guitar strings, £40 for 4 string sets and £50 for 5 string sets. I just started using them last month and i don't know whether it's worth carrying on using them now. I might grab a 5 string set before the end of the month because they'll last years with the amount i use it.
