With the Glam band it varies from around 70 to 200 depending on venue size. We had a lot of sell out gigs last year too which is always nice to see posted on the venue page. On the other side of the coin the punk band plays to 10 to 70 Dave

BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam covers band at Beat Generator in Dundee tonight. Only 54 advanced ticket sales but it had a lot of walk-ins. Owner said its always a quiet time for bands but we had a lot more than even he expected. Reckon around 100 in total and all up for a great party night. Audience were dancing all night, owner loved it and said the band were brilliant. FB comment already saying we have been the best band ever to play there and they will be back to see us. Have to say the audiences in Dundee always seem to be very enthusiastic for us. Pain of a load in & out as its 3 flights of stairs but PA and lights are supplied. Sound Engineer did a fantastic job on both FOH and stage sound. 1.5hr drive home but not too bad as roads were virtually empty and i managed to get parked outside the main door of the venue. Superb. All in all a good night. Sandberg VM4 into Ampeg SVT7 Pro and Mesa SW210/115 cabs. Dave

I did have an active bass that didn't work in passive mode when battery was down or removed but can't remember which one it was. I change my batteries every Xmas / New Year but voltages are usually still ok typically above 9V off load. If i check a battery on my working basses and its below 9.2V i'll replace it. Typically a new battery will measure 9.6-9.7V off load. They still work down to 8.7V off load but wouldn't trust it at that level. My wireless transmitter has built in rechargeable batteries which give me approx 3 gigs before a recharge approx 12-14hrs. Dave

Can't have been too bad then as quite a decent sized crowd and they look as tho they are well into it. Sound Engineers are a hit or a miss and this guy sounds as tho he doesn't really know what he's doing. Just move on and if you return there either take your own SE or just accept its gonna be a difficult sound check again. Maybe whoever he was on the phone to could come along and do the sound for you. Apart from the fact your vocal mic was muted i'd put this down as a successful gig. Dave

Think all my active basses can be put into passive mode and will work without a battery. Its something i was always curious about just in case a battery died on me. I still change the batteries every year and i'll remove and test the off-load voltage every few mths or so. We all live and learn by our mistakes and pretty sure you won't do that again. @SuperSeagull Dave

There was a US Glam era of bands like Kiss, Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Angel, The Tubes and probably a few more. Most of which were a bit later than the UK Glam era. There are a few UK Glam covers bands doing the rounds and i think most are doing the full show and all love what they do. Its just great fun. Dave

Because our drummer played with Glitter Band in 90's we've done a few over recent years but he's never comfortable with them so we've given up pushing it. He doesn't like advertising the fact he played with them mainly because he's actually quite a shy quiet guy. He did suggest we start the set with Rock & Roll Pt 1 i think it was but we use that as an intro recording on some gigs. Will see what develops. If you are thinking of Angel Face then play it faster as the GB used to do live otherwise he says it dies a bit. We had a guy before Xmas who kept shouting for GG but he was pi**ed and a bit of t**t. That was the guy that knocked over my bass after we finished that night before Xmas and was thrown out. Luckily no damage. We were in getting changed at the time and my wife thru a wobbler at him. Singer ran out and threw him off the stage. Big big guy too but could hardly stand. The joys of playing in bands. Dave

Its odd how we get requests and obvious love for BCR yet GG is a no no. Dave

They were around during the Glam peak era 73-74 and almost every Glam band will play their songs so i'm gonna say yes. They were more Tartan than Glitter tho but for a Scotsman that's the same thing. We already do 2 of their songs and about to add a 3rd as they are very popular especially up this way. There were a few other bands like Kenny, Mud and even Showaddywaddy were all classed under that Glam umbrella. All about costumes and pop songs i guess. Its a very grey area. For me Glam was more T.Rex, Bowie, Sweet and Slade. They were the classic ones but that's just my own view on it. Dave

We all have a secret Glam side Mart. Some of us are happy to admit it and others are still struggling to come out of the Glam closet. Its a hard world we live in. 🤩🤩🤩 Dave

Hopefully you'll get some replacements in that you also get along with. Don't just settle tho, try and get the right fit. Appreciate that's not an easy thing to find. All the very best Dave

Curious why the drummer has an all black vinyl strip round his drumkit ? Other than that i really enjoyed the two vids. Those Hartke rigs have a nice clank to them too. Singer has a cracking gruff voice that suits Roadhouse perfectly for me. Great band and cheers for sharing. Dave

Liked that Andy. Love the tone from that Gibson bass. It has a nice mid edge to it. I can feel that GAS starting again. Dave
