  1. Last night with Emergency Exit punk covers band in a regular venue for us in The Cave in Paisley. Sex Pistols were playing in Glasgow so most of our regulars were there but it turned out to be reasonably busy which was a big surprise for us. Few mistakes made as we wind the band down this year. It was a good gig tho and we did get asked for several encores. Lack of interest within the band after many many years together. No ill feeling about it but we've decided it might be best to just take a break and see how everyone feels in New Year. Not sure if it will come together again tho. Auditioning with another band on Thu night doing 80's rock so will see how that goes. Its not so much an audition as more to see if i fancy doing it. I know the singers and guitarist. Dave
  2. I've never had to do that calculation but i was always under the impression that with 440V 3-phase you took a supply from any 2 phases to neutral ? Having done a quick search i realise its for motor windings i was thinking off. If you measured across 2 phases on a motor you would get 230V. I now see what you mean. My apologies there. Dave
  3. Surely any 2 phases to common would give 230V. If its wired correctly it shouldn't be an issue. Not every feed in a building will be from the same 2 phases. It should be shared across all 3 phases to balance load. Dave
  4. Would that make any difference ? Dave
  5. One of my pet hates when arriving at a venue. I've had trouble with my old Mesa Mpulse picking up noise when using the same extension as other amps or even wireless units. Move it to another socket on same ring and its fine. Not experienced any issues with my HB WB-100 to be honest. I try not to plug my amp into the same extension as any other amp tho. Still same mains ring as most venues only have one ring on stage areas. Dave
  6. Exciting night by sounds of it. I always feel uncomfortable when someone is overly drunk and i'm just waiting for something to happen. Dave
  7. Sorry to hear that @12stringbassist. Can only hope things pick up for you mate. Take care. You've always got us lot to keep you cheered up a bit. Dave
  8. They sound great Daryl, will keep an eye out for them. Might check them out more on Youtube and possibly buy a CD if available. Dave
  9. 100% this. I personally think you will be a great match for this fundraiser. Great musicians, easy to listen to vocalist. What's not to enjoy. Enjoy and have fun with it Daryl. @Bluewine. Dave
  10. Mine only does portrait and landscape ............. i think
  11. This is all way above my head. I'm one of the thicko's that just shoot in portrait until someone explains it all to me. I have no idea what SQUARE sensors are. ? I'm on my first smart phone. Dave
  12. I'll just delete the posts with the links as its obviously not working. Thanks for letting me know. Dave
  13. i put it on the earlier post but copied here again just for you. VID not working - DELETED
  14. That is an odd bass set up right enough. Dave
  15. Yours sounded about the correct tempo. It was @Woodinblack i was talking about tempo being fast with his. Dave
  16. Shared it to my own FB page see if it works now guys. Failing that i'll delete it completely. Dave
  17. It is and i can't change it so i'm gonna delete it. Sorry guys. Dave
  18. That speed brings back some fond memories. I liked it at that speed. Dave
  19. Just had a wee look at the link and that's a great version he does. I think i'm pretty close to what he's doing altho playing down the neck a bit. Love the tone he has in that clip. Maybe i need a Ric bass Dave
  20. I remember ours used to do that and we spent a bit of time slowing it down to correct tempo. Its so easy to let it run fast on you. Great for the bass when it does. I found it easier to play at a slightly faster speed. Dave
  21. EDITED as vid is from a friends FB page and can't be seen by anyone. Sorry guys. Dave Try this one see if shows. Shared to my own page ? http://www.facebook.com/100001392556773/videos/1043943584404803
  22. That's approx where i play Sat Night altho i do it all on the lower end of the neck up to 5th fret apart from first intro riff but basically the same. I do tend to throw in a few more 8ths during the chorus and especially the solos to fill it out a bit with just having one guitarist and no keys. Dave
  23. What amp are you using with the Aggie cabs ? Have to say that's about the speed we play it too altho originally we did it faster but guitarists were having trouble doing the solos. Think this is about the correct tempo tho. I always feel its dragging a little when playing it. Dave
  24. Nice deep bass tone there. Love it. Dave.
  25. Last nights gig with Emergency Exit punk covers was at The Riverside in Dumfries. The band has been playing this venue for 7yrs now (3yrs with me) but unfortunately due to noise complaints from locals that moved in recently the venue has suffered from noise complaints and the owner Ann has finally had enough and has decided to retire so i think that will be the end of live bands in this venue. She retires next week so we were privileged to be asked to play for her. Sad moment but she had been to court so many times in past 2 yrs with it and won because she was putting live music on before these people moved in. Decent turn out and very enthusiastic dancing around the bar and conservatory areas. 1hr drive home so that was easy too. Guitarist had a senior moment when he started Teenage Kicks in Db instead of D and he just couldn't get out of it and it was a disaster moment but we just made a joke of it and the audience appreciated its live music and sometimes we have senior moments. We did cut it short tho. Band has a meeting this Thursday to see if we want to continue doing the punk covers band as venues that will accept punk are becoming less and less and the audiences are dwindling from 3 yrs ago. Its odd because any time we play we get a great response from all generations and age groups. Original member from 78 is doing a Ramones tribute too and is thinking its maybe time to call it a day. I'm 50/50 on it mainly because i like the people in the band and i really quite enjoy playing the songs. They have a lot of energy especially the SLF songs which have become my fav songs in the set. Will see how it goes. Dave
