  1. Nice. I do like my Sandberg basses. They just have a nice feel to them. Look forward to seeing the pics. Dave
  2. what Sandberg did you get Mart.? Dave
  3. Superb stuff there. Really enjoyed that and the bass sounded amazing. I'm guessing you were thru the PA ? Dave
  4. I was wondering about the bass too. Those Lull basses do look good. Does it sound like a P bass or does it have a more modern P sound like many of the modern mfr's do ie Sandbergs etc. Dave
  5. Proper little business venture going on there then Is Sound and Lighting a 3rd band or literally PA &Lighting hire Daryl. If a 3rd band what kind of music are you doing with that one as i don't think i've seen any vids of them. ? Dave
  6. And no garlic either
  7. Enjoyed that. Curious why THE guitarist, bass and singer are all towards one side of the stage and 2nd guitarist has all that space to himself on the RHS, especially when your singer had to dodge the bass headstock there. I would have moved the singer over 2-3ft and give you a little more room to move. Just curious. Dave
  8. Enjoyed that. Nice to see sax and other wind instruments being used too. We do Virginia Plain in the Glam covers band too but we don't have keys. I play the mid section on the bass using an envelope filter pedal. I do love playing that little bass run down after the guitar solo / chorus. Dave
  9. Its so sad that someone can reach the point of taking their own life @Dad3353. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Sad news. Dave
  10. Throw mine in the General household waste bin. There was someone on BC that took old strings and made jewellery from them if i remember right. Dave
  11. Odd name for a bass He's a wee cutie right enough. Dave
  12. Happy times right enough. I used to practice approx 2-3hrs a night after work. When i had the WAL bass i wasn't really gigging much, i had decided to spend time learning jazz-rock style bass like Brand X, Bruford, Camel just to improve my playing and technique. I'm far busier gig wise nowadays at 64 yrs old than i ever was in my 20's. I had a unlined Fender P fretless before the WAL and i liked the feel of a fretless. I still have my Overwater 6 string custom fretless but very rarely play it these days. Dave
  13. Few image changes there @BigRedX. Dave
  14. Yep we've had that issue on occasion where the set was too long and we were running out of time to finish for the night. We end up debating what song is dropped. I just stand at the side awaiting a resolve altho sometimes i don't hear what song we're doing next. We now have songs marked on the set list that we will drop for whatever reason. I've already covered the issue of adding more songs to an already long setlist without dropping other songs. Its no wonder we run out of time at the end of the night. I live in hope and dream of the day we stick to 2x1hr sets. Dave
  15. Cheers @jezzaboy and hopefully i'll see you in Paisley sometime. The Cave is calling you mate. Dave
  16. For a minute there i thought i was looking at Les Holroyd from Barclay James Harvest. Dave
  17. No idea. It had a dead spot on the G string and WAL didn't want to know anything about it even tho i bought it new from them as a custom order. Put me right of WAL. Dave
  18. Circa 83/84 WAL custom lined fretless £740 with one of THE best bass heads ever produced and a custom 12" + 15" bass cab fitted with Peavey Black Widows. Both amp channels on with the top passive channel doing most of the low end and the bottom para EQ channel doing the mids. It was a very nice bass tone. With BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam band approx 2yrs ago i think. BLOCKBUSTARZ unmasked earlier this year 2024 at a photo shoot. We took this one for posterity. Back RHS being happy. With Emergency Exit Punk covers band 2023. Not the sharpest of pics i'm afraid.
  19. Same female singer but different band Daryl ? Dave
  20. Unfortunately our vids are never on Youtube so its hard to copy over to BC. Dave
  21. Excellent once again Daryl. Nice guitar work and drummers backing vocals really nice. Watched you play a few times now and what strikes me most is how relaxed and free flowing your right hand is. You play a lot of little runs or fill ins but your hand has a natural rhythmic movement much like a rhythm guitarist would have. I've seen a few pick players play like that and it makes the whole thing very natural looking. Once again the overall sound is more modern Country to me than blues and i really like it. Nice one Daryl. Dave
  22. I've lost track of your original question now but i like the idea of lights being wireless as back of drum area in our band becomes a spaghetti junction with cables for light bars each side of drummer on back wall and then side bars each side of stage and also a few other effects lights. You end up with just as many lighting cables as you do mic cables so i'm curious to see where you end up. Dave
  23. When i order XLR cables these days i get my name and length labelled on each one. I use Designacable. It means i just take out the cable length i need for each venue. Dave
