  1. I've tried a couple of Spectors and to be honest they weren't a patch on my 89 Thumb NT or the Streamer i had a loan of in 1990 for 6mths. The Spectors i've tried were 2nd hand approx £1500 so not the cheap versions. Didn't like the feel of the necks on them. Think it may have been down to the depth of the neck rather than the width. Dave
  2. I'm repeating what was mentioned by other people on this thread who had contacted his bandmates on FB. I suggest you read the full thread as his bandmate made a comment on FB that he had been doing this for years. Its not a witch hunt to state my own personal views that i wouldn't accept people i know behaving like that.
  3. Great news Walshy but i'd leave this thread running until everyone is refunded. Dave
  4. Aye you got me there. 😂 Only a geek can spot another geek. 🤣 Dave🎅
  5. Deltic, Class 37's & 40's have been my fav loco's for many many years. Being a train geek i have several models of the 37 and 40 but oddly enough i've never bought a Deltic. Its on my todo list tho. When i turned 40 and managerial job wasn't what i had hoped i almost went down the route of job change to be a train driver and even looked into how you start and what salary was but at start of £12-£16k i couldn't afford the drop at that time. Love the sound of diesels from that era. Dave
  6. War of the Worlds is worth a congratulations there @Bilbo Another great piece of music. Thanks again and enjoy your rest period. Well deserved. Dave
  7. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will at some point. Maybe take advice from Prowla on his technique. Its all in the technique i'm told. 😂 Joking aside @walshy seriously hope it gets sorted for you Dave
  8. Excellent news. Glad its sorted for you but what about @walshy. Is he not in same position as you. Dave
  9. On a more serious note i always wanted to be a truck driver. Probably because my Dad drove trucks up until i started school at 5 yrs old and i used to go with him and later he drove buses part time so went with him at weekends. I became an Instrument Technician instead. My Dad was originally an aircraft artificer in Fleet Air Arm so i guess i followed in his footsteps becoming an engineer . Dave
  10. A Lumberjack 😂
  11. Many thanks Neil. It will mean a lot to people like myself who have a very high regard for you and what you've accomplished over the years. For me Fool for your Loving was you at your very best. Even if there are things not quite perfect it's still such a fantastic bassline. When you consider when it was recorded and that bass players all over the world are still trying to figure it out for me just shows how good it is. Dave
  12. Good point. Criminal has nothing to lose, he's already labelled a criminal in eyes of the law. You on the other hand don't need this kind of aggro over the festive period. Have you reported it to the police @prowla ? otherwise this thread is gonna run forever with everyone else getting angry and agitated which we don't need at Xmas time. Report it to the police and Facebook. Let them deal with it and move on to enjoy Xmas. Don't let this ruin your festive spirit.
  13. I thought it had been raised with Police. Was there not a mention a few pages back about a police report number or whatever its called these days. ?
  14. Even better. Like Dave Paton and getting the best of Pilot as a wee Xmas pressie from my wife. Until recently i wasn't aware Dave Paton played with Elton John. Dave
  15. Love that song and bassline. One of my favourite EJ songs just for the bass.
  16. I always thought bank transfer was safer. ? Dave
  17. How did you pay him. ? Can you claim your money back thru bank or Paypal Dave
  18. Oddly enough i thought you would pick that one. 😂
  19. Do you have a fav ? Dave.
  20. Kansas UK Bruford Sweet Slade T.Rex Probably too many to list Dave
  21. Agree. Everything just works so well in that song. Possibly the best rock song ever written IMHO of course.😀
  22. Even taking a copy from Bilbo and marking up the changes and reposting back on here would be great. Dave
  23. It would be great to get the bass part from the original bassist. Dave
  24. Once our band set list is learned i will pick something to work on that taxes me a little bit more otherwise i will faff about for a bit and get fed up. Usually its something from Bilbo's collections. That also keeps my interest in practicing especially under current climate. Dave
