seemed meths was the way to go from the thread i started! my stingray came with DRs on it about 6 months ago and im still rocking them now! not tried the meths trick yet though.

bought digitech pre amp from mike. very easy to deal with, great communications and an easy quick transaction!!

that is a pretty interesting concept, i wonder if it would feel a little strange?

thanks for all the input guys, bought some meths at the weekend so i am good to go! got the weirdest looks just buying bottles of meths though...

haha i cannot actually believe all the different methods everyone uses! i think im gonna give the meths style a whirl and see how i get on, down to the diy stores this weekend to buy piping etc...

lazy as this may sound, save me doing the research... wheres the best place to get meths from? (not an expert) and any particular type, told you i wasnt good with technical stuff...

if anyone has any recipes to share... maybe ill use cheap pans instead of my girlfriends nice shiny expensive ones aswell...

i do like the fact that everyone assumed i wouldnt take the strings off first! i know technically im not very good but come on!! haha thanks for the answers guys i guess ill give it a go and see what i think, most cooking ive done for a while anyways...

Hi all, im not the most clued up player with technical stuff but im just looking at getting the most out of a set of strings and ive come across people who boil their strings? is this worth doing? does it give much of an extended lifespan? or can it damage my bass? if anyone knows anything about this, would really appreciate your help!! thanks

so! i have some share money coming in and im gonna buy a stingray but now im in a flat, i need a decent amp that i could hook up to my ipod and some headphones so what i need to know is, what amps are good that fit that , and also what headphones!! help please!!!
