  1. Bless you Andy, much appreciated
  2. That's odd - I can see them - I'm on a works VPN through The Netherlands Let me know if they still aren't showing and I'll gather them all from the build post and add to the listing – or maybe I'll just add some new pics although I'm away until Saturday morning F
  3. It is with regret that I'm putting this up for sale – I'll get some new pics up this weekend In the meantime here's a link to the build thread… Sigh… I hope I don't regret this
  4. 1976 Aria Pro II Precise Bass I picked this up on eBay around 2007 for 180 quid – last year Jack's Instrument Services in Manchester did some work on the bass: new scratchplate, fret job, Delano pup, replaced old wiring and fitted a push-pull mod that makes it sound like a Wal (only joking) – it's a bass boost kind of thing, still passive. The neck is the chunky baseball bat style and it weighs around 8lbs with a super-low action, all in it's cost 600 quid and is the equal to any Fender I've owned from any period.
  5. Thanks @NancyJohnson
  6. Any recommendations for laser cutting steel for a neck plate?
  7. I'll be putting this up for sale very soon (on here obviously!) I'm posting this note as I'd like someone that's followed the build or expressed interest to buy it preferably Mods: if this notice contravenes forum rules please remove
  8. Any progress @Owen? I'm thinking of getting back to my Stingray 4 build in the next year or so
  9. I've got two of these, on a P and a J - great bridges – GLWTS
  10. Can anybody tell me if the Delano Hybrid pickup can work successfully with the East Uni-pre preamp? Delano tell me that it will be OK but will have to be wired according to their installation guide – PDF attached – it has a switch to flip between J (passive) and MM (active) but unfortunately electrics are more like voodoo to me, hence the query I have the Uni-Pre installed so switching to their pre-amp isn't really an option Cheers! installation guide_2018_1.pdf
  11. Cracking work there – loving the Trace Elliott in the back of the third pic too 🙂
  12. Thanks for the suggestions everyone Next question is… should I use lead-free solder?
  13. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced soldering iron?
  14. Does anyone have any experience with this pickup? https://www.delano.de/hybrid_4/hybrid_4_details.html
  15. Well, ebay was a waste of time – price drop, now £250
  16. Update: Back up for sale as the buyer decided it wasn't the project for him. The buyer reports that the truss rod turns OK and it's now sporting both pickups. - - - - - - - - - - Ibanez Jazz bass from the 1970s for sale – not looking for trades I bought this years ago and have never got around to doing the work needed and I already have a J so this isn't needed – it's not the lightest, but certainly isn't the heaviest either – I'll figure out a way to weigh it if there's genuine interest This is a bit of a project as it needs a bit of fretwork at the headstock end, and possibly a new nut I can't check the truss rod as it needs a stubby key and the ones I have won't go in far enough and I don't want to force it and strip it – the previous buyer reports that the truss rod does turn but doesn't solve the fret problem The action is very low and it plays perfectly up the neck although it buzzes at frets 1–3 on all strings – worst at the first, improving as it gets to the third, then all OK For someone with the skills this will make a nice bass – unfortunately I have neither the skills nor the time, so its has to go 🙁 No case, but could be disassembled and boxed for delivery (UK sale only) Cheers -

  17. I doubt you'll find a genuine one – I looked for ages for a Stingray clone I've been building for the last three years Tone5 do one (from Taiwan) and this place: https://tlcguitargoods.com/en/neck-plate-bass-6-hole-music-man-style-stainless-steel.html Good luck – bass looks great btw
  18. A schoolboy error, sir – don't let it happen again 🙃
  19. If I don't get any interest soon I will do that, good suggestion, thanks!
  20. I was only kidding about the bonfire!
  21. Somebody asked about nut width… 41mm Edit: Somebody asked about the weight: 7lb 4oz with bridge and pickup cover in place 6lb 15oz without (1960s?) Shaftesbury Tele bass for sale – no trades, ta Nice short scale thud from what the seller told me were the original strings. No way to check this obviously but he bought it new and couldn't remember ever buying strings! The pickguard is cracked near the pickup and broken in three other places although I do have the two smaller bits that have broken off The screws that hold the pickup cover currently screw into thin air so a dowel might be needed here or a bodge of some kind to get these screws into something EDIT: pickup cover issue now repaired – screws now going into ash dowels The neck is in good shape and the truss rod turns Collection from Oxford preferable though could meet halfway if not too far – courier option OK if buyer arranges – (UK sale only)
  22. Sorry Jozef, UK sale only – apologies for not stating that in the advert
