  1. Thanks for all your replies – very helpful – this is what I'm aiming for… (Alpher) I've been pondering this for ages – I may have posted something similar previously 😎
  2. What's the thinnest that Wenge or Maple could be planed down to? I've sourced some nice pieces but 5 or 6mm is a bit too thick for a scratch plate – can it go any thinner and still be workable or rigid enough?
  3. Try GSP basses over on thefretboard.co.uk - Graham made a couple of stingray bodies for me and a lovely fretless neck
  4. ain't that the case – to quote @Andyjr1515, I have a cunning plan 🙂
  5. why the heck don't pickup manufacturers stick to the same dimensions for pickup screw positions and case dimensions? I bought a Haussel J that is quite a bit smaller than anything I've come across before – so what? I hear you say – well, the pickguard just doesn't look right now, with a sizeable gap around, compared to the previous J (Delano) and just to make things worse the magnet pairs don't line up correctly I also bought a Haussel MM which is also slightly different to a stock one and the Delano MM OK, rant over 😶
  6. John East does one, although it doesn't seem to be on his new website – I got a couple from him last year so might be worth an email https://reverb.com/au/item/14879048-john-east-bli-01-low-battery-indicator-black
  7. put the price up! I have this pup mod and it takes the SR to a whole new level
  8. What a way to start the week! (I know it's already Tuesday, no wise-cracks necessary) What @Cat Burrito said (three posts above) – this thread has shown a hint of 'angry mob with pitchforks' – chill the feck out people Mods: Maybe we need a sticky or whatever to lay down some rules about self-promotion via Youtube etc so we can avoid hurting people's feelings
  9. Nice one – you can't rush these things 😉
  10. Thanks man, nice piece that sums things up perfectly – I love all that mis-spelling of artists names, always makes me wonder what the heck was going on I agree with you about the bass on the second one – I'm sure my vinyl copy from decades ago doesn't have that cymbal at the start, will have to dig it out and check 🙃
  11. Which is best? love the symbol at the start of the second one
  12. Now… what can I make with the old Wal board?
  13. Thanks man – if they've got those Lady Gaga Oreo's can you grab a couple – they were deffo on special offer the other week
  14. Does anyone know if the Tesco's on Green Street is doing a special offer on their own-brand pale ale right now?
  15. Great work Andy! Yes, I'll do a sound clip hopefully in the very near future 😎
  16. Some leftover oak worktop, an hour or so in the garden with the chopsaw and drill/hole saw, and a bit of rasping and sanding, plus some sticky-back rubber from hobbycraft and some osmo oil to finish…
  17. Have you got a little nick out of the lower horn there?
  18. I did ask Paul for a bridge but he said he couldn't provide one – I did get a string retainer and a case though
  19. mission accomplished – it's looking amazing!
  20. +1 for the steam approach – I saw a multi-dinged Stingray headstock sorted this way
  21. @Andyjr1515 is the top of the neck asymmetrical, or is it waiting to be carved?
