Indeed, but 2800 W for an acoustic duo with a budget..? Excellent stuff, certainly, but overkill for the needs specified (unless rich as Crésus, of course...).

Maybe, but if bass, kick, guitar and vocals are going through it how many watts are you "replacing"?

Also two 735s come in at around £400 over budget new.  So secondhand might be achievable.  Extra headroom is always preferable too :)

  2. I'm sensing gas :P

    I would suggest EITHER

As suggested wait until you can buy a whole system that will do the job

    OR

Buy with an end goal in mind

So, if you must satisfying the GASGOD right now maybe look at getting one speaker.  Either use it as an extra monitor or just "reinforcement".   Something like a single RCF745 (Around £1000) or a RCF735 (around £700) would be my route of choice.  That way, when funds allow you could potentially just get one more of those and have a PA that can keep up with whatever you throw at it (I *think* for your situation the 735 could cope)

Good to see some pics - that's interesting, a couple of things I wouldn't expect on an MIJ bass of this era. It's definitely a bit different to SH73's Jazz.

First - the neckplate - not seen one like this on a 70s MIJ before, s/n looks sequential & a low number. The body looks like mahogany, from the grain, the natural ones are usually sen ash on this sort of thing.

Did a bit of searching for Yasuki & was interested to see that many of the results are guitars with built-in effects. These are pretty common branded as Fresher, and this is a brand strongly associated with Chushin Gakki.

Looks like a one-piece neck with an unbound fretboard. Quite unusual too.

If it's OK, I might steal your pics & put them on the FB Vintage MIJ page I use, see if anyone there knows about Yasuki.

    Sherlocks back! xD

  4. My own thinking on this is that we want the site to be as fluid and simple as possible.

The more fields people have to fill in (or have the option to fill in) then the more there is to go wrong.

Balancing that, for the buyers having certain fields could be really handy.

Some people are really nervous about posting these things online (and some people's jobs actually forbid it) and they might even insist on posting it. What we don't want to do is scare these people off.

I'll try to think of an elegant solution but it will take a fair amount of testing to get right

It’s also interesting that when attempting to load the site on WiFi the small security padlock icon is missing in the search field when using 4G the padlock is there.

From what I've read it's either a browser or router issue.

First, can you try a different browser? If possible one that hasn't been on your device previously (don't import any settings into it if it has an option)

If that doesn't work unplug your router for a minute. Once rebooted and reconnted give it another go :)

I don't think it's as simple as that. I'm currently using a laptop with IE, and can see locations (when they're there...) without having to delve into profiles. However, despite seeing several statements from admins etc that there are no longer different mobile and full/desktop sites, my own experience is different, when I'm using different devices (desktop/mobile/tablet) and browsers. I don't see locations on my phone.

Whether certain fields are visible or not is down to the browser window size. It automatically scales. That's why it's the same page for mobile or desktop.

If on desktop you make the window small enough it will change to "mobile view".

I used to really like Reason for making sounds, but not so much for actual sequencing which seemed a bit basic, or maybe it was just too small on the screen? Anyway, that was years ago

I used to find it really intuitive for sequencing but that just goes to show really

  8. BTW this is what I mean when I say about being able to see the wiring in reason

Image result for propellerhead reason wiring

I can't remember the key combination however...

It might seem like a really silly thing and in MOST instances it is a little bit, however if you want to run just the left signal of an instrument through to an effect it's as simple as dragging the cable and doing that which can make it really intuitive :) (obviously that's a weird example)

Maybe I should look at a couple, then, as I can't really imagine what this involves. Perhaps I'm too much of a 'low-life' user to realise that there are other ways of skinning cats. Hmm... Cheers. :)

It's a personal preference thing as much as anything :)

I would fully recommend giving Reason a good bash though

I'm failing to understand the comments regarding Reaper and MIDI. I'm certainly not the 'sharpest knife in the drawer', and my needs/uses are, in sum, rather modest, but I've had no issues whatever using Reaper for MIDI tracks, either recording 'live', importing or manually editing. Maybe I'm missing something (seems likely...)..? The only thing I can think of would be a way of 'programming' a mathematical change, such as all MIDI 2 volume values to be increased by 5% if they're under 25, or stuff like that, but even then I'm pretty sure that if I looked hard enough (there's plenty of forum knowledge out there...), there's probably an extension for such, and more. What's the beef with Reaper and MIDI..? O.o

Just curious; and now I'm likely to learn something, hopefully. :)

For some DAWs midi editing is where they started (reason is a great example, they've only recently moved to recording) and so they're somewhat more fully featured/fluid in that respect than DAWs that have moved in the other direction.  I can't speak about Reaper specifically as I found it unpleasant to use so stepped away after a short period

Lol! And there was me hoping to save time by standing on the shoulders of my illustrious forbears...

Sometimes a fresh eye is best :)

Before you start I would suggest having a think about how you would LIKE to be able to work :)
