I  went to the thread via clicking the note in the in-box, and there was no reply.  My post was still the last one in the thread.

Possibly just a one off, and maybe trivial,  but just thought i'd mention it

It's possible they deleted it

I'll have a poke around and see if I can find anything. In the meantime if you could try changing your email address to an alternative (ideally a different provider) to see if the problem goes away that would be awesome

Email won't be PC related. It will be your email provider, I'll dig a bit deeper once im a bit more rested.

The reason I ask notification or email is:

Notification is what the site calls the little orange bubble at the top

Email is just an email

Don't want to confuse the two

I'm definitely receiving thread notifications to my email (got one for this thread) so it won't be a site thing as it's all handled by the same bit of code

You want to receive an email when someone comments on a thread you're following if I'm correct?

It's definitely been a trial and our old server provider tried every trick in the book to make it impossible for us to leave but we're through to the other side and now have full control at last!

Nothing changed this end

You wait til you see the new server... I ran a test earlier pages honestly loaded before my mouse had a chance to fully lift

I *think* you can run through one side each... although I've not had a chance to try it yet! Just make sure whatever is replacing the backline is up to the job!

Mine arrived yesterday, it sounds amazing out of the box so I can't wait to get fiddling with the settings!

I would stick with the spector, I've never found a rick I can get on with and also find Ricks to lack versatility

Because Google will have taken a copy of every single bit of text on this site and run it through some rather fancy algorithms (that basically make Google... Google) and they have 62000 employees and over $500billion  

And we're waiting on a fairly major server upgrade which should fully restore our search

What most people didn't know was that before this upgrade the search was actually more broken than now!

I find it keeps the threads a lot tidier and it lowers the risk of people breaching the marketplace rules.

There'll be a few more improvements around this lot in the future that will make it make a lot more sense

At the moment the search function only finds the last year's worth of posts/topics.

We're still arguing with some guys about provisioning the new server, sorry about the inconvenience but we're between a rock and a hard place until that's sorted (hopefully this week)

I am following several threads on the site and when anyone replies / adds to the threads I get a notification....all ok so far. However today when I went to my "Manage Followed Content" I noticed there were several threads that either the topic had been edited (eg SOLD) or the initial post had been edited with extra information...... but no notifications came through. If I remember with the original site I would get notifications for any changes to the threads. Is it possible on the new site as I've had a look as my notifications settings and it only mentions "new replies" nothing about edits?

Also would I get notified if anyone used the "bump" button on their thread?

You won't get notifications for edits or bumps as far as I'm aware
