An update: In June 2009 I suffered a fairly serious stroke and for a while I lost all use of my left side. Alan Cringean got to hear of this and he put the bass onto the back-burner, waiting to see if I still wanted it. I've quite quickly regained the use of my left side with intensive physio and although I'm a long way off being able to play for the 90 to 120 minutes needed for a gig I AM able to manage about 20 minutes or so now and increasing my left side stamina all the time. There was no question that, in time and with good fortune, I'd return to full left-side mobility. Alan was thus given the go-ahead to continue the build. I don't have photos to post right now - I'm using the PC at a friend's house - but the progress can be seen here... Good luck with the sale but as someone who owns two ACGs already with a third on order... well, I think you're mad for even thinking of selling / trading, frankly. If it wasn't for Christmas and its expenses I'd be biting your hand off right about now. -
It used to me mine and I'm sure 7-string won't mind if I add a little more eye candy to his shop window. It's a great bass which I only sold to fund an ACG custom build (in fact I passed this bass on to 7string at the ACG workshops, when he was there to see progress on his ACG 9 string and I was there to collect my 5 string). Well worth £300 of anyone's dosh. I took this to a bassbash one time and stopped everyone in their tracks by playing Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" through a Little Mark and some BFM Omni cabs. It's a HUGE sound. Good luck with the sale. -

Dannybuoy bought this from me. It's a great bass which I was fairly reluctant to sell and only did so because I have two more ACG custom builds on the way. I'm happy to give it a bump. -

Banter need a new definition then. I've got a Warmoth for sale at the moment. Ask him to steer clear of the thread.

I can get it couriered to London for about £16 but this only has insurance to £150. If you can do better, dannybuoy I'll be happy to have it collected from me.

I carefully removed the Gibson decal shown in the link above and replaced it with a metallic "Warmoth" decal. The bass comes with a hard case. I'm based in Liverpool and collection is preferable or will deliver for petrol money within 50 miles. I've enjoyed having it but haven't gigged this one. Asking what I paid for it, £500. The electrics alone are worth close to that. Solid walnut body, rosewood neck, ziricote fretboard.

Slight update. The neck laminates have been joined up and planed. Next steps are, presumably, affixing the fretboard and then neck shaping. Neck laminates are maple, bubinga, wenge, bubinga, maple.

some progress... The redwood top and back are now secure on the spanish cedar core and the body has been shaped and edges rounded and smoothed. It's beginning to look like a bass now and I'm really really pleased with the results.

In order to do a depping gig on Saturday I had to learn Whitesnake's Blindman and Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green Era)'s Need Your Love So Bad, neither of which I'd ever touched before. Also been working, purely for fun, on Tom Petty's American Girl and Pink Floyd's Dogs.

Does anyone here now this song well enough to post up a basic chord chart that I can work out a bassline from? It has to be at least 18 years since I heard this and I have a late -call dep for a band that play this taking place tomorrow night. There are a couple of other tracks that I don't know too well but I found some Guitar-Pro dots/tab which will get me through - but there's nothing on this one. Facebook has been pretty handy coz I contacted Neil Murray direct and he's promised to get something done for me but... I'm not holding my breath. I'd YouTube it and work from that but I'm in work til probably about 11 tonight and YT is disabled on the office 'puters. Tomorrow daytime I'm fecked for getting stuff done but I have a bass here in the office and can sort it out no probs today. Apparently we're in F# which I believe is the original key. All help gratefully received.
