  5. Hi folks, Im looking for some advice. My Fender Jazz (99) sounds fab, however, when the neck pickup is selected the volume pot does not totally kill the sound when turned down. She doesnt remain at full volume but dips until about half way then stays constant with about 50% of the vol pot left to rotate. The bridge works as it should, not being the most electronically minded person your ideas would be gratefully received. Cheers Col

  15. The boss tu-2 is a stonkin pedal, chromatic, step down, 2 step down tuning. Its built like a tank too. Should get one for about £50 and you'll never have to think about tuning again. just my humble opinion
  16. Im in the process of learning most of Bryan Adams' back catalogue. Ive just joined an established tribute act. Forgot how good a song writer ol Bryan is. Top tunes, the basslines are cool enough, John Paul Jones it aint but it'll do for now!! Back to the MP3s C
  17. My Warwick Fortress Masterman Custom cost me £2250 when I ordered her back in 97. A huge amout of dosh for me at the time, still is in fact. If I put her up for sale now I doubt Id get over £500 for her. I think times will change and her value will increase. I dont mind though, i would never sell her, she is still as fantastic as the day I had her, she's coming on me final journey with me, just in case they need bassmen on the other side. Money means very little when you get the right job done. Warwick pulled out the stops and built a phenomenal musical instrument. C
  18. Its a very easy bassline, simple but effective. Try and suss it by ear. They arent tuned down so concert pitch and youll be there.
  19. I have to say Ive been lucky with drummers, I'm pretty keen on developing the rhythm section and grooves whilst the other guys battle for the limelight. Most splits Ive been involved with have occured because of "musical differences" between the singer and guitarist or the guitarist is painfully loud or the singer wants to woo the women with "Mustang Sally". Ive always found the "Rhythm Section" camp to be a very fruitful affair (to date) its just the wailers and wangers that Fxxk things up. Ive worked with my mate and drummer for 5 years and just moved from band to band as a rhythm section. Weve recently auditioned for some plum paying gigs so fingers crossed the magic will remain. My previous partner in crime moved to london to seek his fortune and he's done rather well, worked on the Heather Small album and sessioneered for loads of names. Bands are always a pain in the arse but the pain of not gigging is much worse We are all cursed. Good luck with the search OH Murphy Col
