Ah but you have to remember some people have the capacity to make a complaint if they can even hear it, no matter how quiet it is. We used to get the neighbours complaining when we rehearsed in a semi-soundproofed studio. Their house was about 100ft away from the studio and there was a stone wall in between. I got the rest of the band to make a big racket once whilst I went outside the studio. It wasn't at all loud. I was suprised if they could even hear it at all, but my theory was at the time that it probably annoyed them in the same way someone else's headphones annoy you. It's not loud, it's just some people are intolerant.
Sure and that's where the Fed with the mic comes in. If they can't hear it nothing will be done.
 2.
Soz about that. rookie mistake! Im most definitely considering it, I might have to sell some stuff for the moneys. Also a valid point about buying and then selling if I dont get on with it. How long have you had it?
Swap you for your Squier JV I've had this about a fortnight. I import them from Japan. I usually have one or two either here or on the way. Mostly 62RI Precisions and Jazzes. The 70RI's don't come up much... well they do, but at very silly money.
 3.
Im checkin my funds at the mo but Im well interested in this. would you take £400 for it? Ive wanted a white p bass with Rosewood board for months now and been toying with the idea of a vint mod squier for a while. ( im a man of simple tastes XD) but this looks like it might be the one!
Glad you are interesed. I know you are a newbie but price negotiations are usually carried out via a PM .. Oh and I may take £400, if I still have it in November ..
 4.
Im a huge MIJ fan, both my main basses are Jap Fenders, a 19902 MIJ '62 and an '07 CIJ '75 ri ive had sooo many basses now and these two are just perfect for me! and the white one, wa sindeed from ishibashi just before the ban!
Nice "reliced" plate on that blue one. Did you age that yourself?
 5.
Why do all James Tayor songs sound the same? he he!!! - Yes, he is great and instantly recogniseable - but I watched JT with Carole and then the JT solo thing later on and I think he played the same song with different words ten times!
"You've got dead ears, mate" Copyright Russel Crowe, 2010 How dare you, sir! Well Ok, a bit .. I liked the way that he still jumps up to signify the end of the drum bit at the end of a song. Also Carol King conducting with her bum
 6.
love for the Jap P basses! Shame youre not in brighton or Id come try that in a flash!
Sorry! You could always buy it, try it and move it on if you don't gel
 7. There's a thread about noisy neighbours on here an the hell it causes everyone else. Maybe read that first...
 8.
The man speaks the truth! Unfortunately, in-store prices seem to have gone up a bit here recently, but they may still be cheaper than the U.K. I'm not sure.
Sounds like an opportunity, Beardy
 9.
As it is for Honky Tonk Women, on the record. I've just fired up the stereo and had a listen. Bass on chorus and solo only.
I generally leave them to it for the first verse and then help them out a bit in the subsequent verses. I have staff to play the cowbell
 10.
That's how it is on the record. Just like All Right Now, another one that some bassists just can't resist.
With All Right Now though it's all of the verses ... Someone was talking about a review of his band where the reviewer was complaining that he played ARN wrong as he "didn't even play during the verses!!" Doh! Probably thought he was playing a guitar.
 11.
I worked with him at a small software company in Guildford from 1989 to 1996 - he'd been there for many years before me, and possibly many years after too. Seeing his face on your website was a real blast from the past - fortunately they're good memories! We used to talk guitars in those days, before I saw the light! It's just strange to come across him again after all this time, from so far away. You can tell him Tim W says "Hi".
I'll PM you his email and you can tell him yourself
 12.
Well, that's what I thought! On a serious note, is it just the first verse? I usually only play for the chorus and the solo, and avoid the verses. I use the verses to do some dancing in the style of Bill Wyman... ( - song idea #73 - (Si Si) Je Suis Un Rock Star)
Just the first verse judging by this live one. Keeeeeeeeef seems to have a guitar with just two strings on
 13.
Hey OldGit - I just looked on the Jellied Reels website - is that David Good (without an 'e' - is that correct?) in the photo?. I daren't check any further on your site in case I confirm my suspicions and find myself travelling back in time to a previous existence where we worked together for many years... I feel a case of the Twilight Zone coming on...
Indeed He's amusical tart. Been all over and still does. Even wears tartan and play a bass on some evenings (with other bands that is, not us ) So how do you know him? PS not sure if he has an e or not
 14.
Hi mate. Kind of all of the above I suppose. Is it a trunk of a neck? I had a 78 which I miss the neck of dearly, it was pure poetry. I'm imagining it's glossed, not really a major issue. Is it deep? Mine was quite wide at the nut but then shallow. Kind of like a rick I suppose. I know what I mean but it's hard to word. I tend to either love or hate p necks and there's never anything real behind it. Just that something that necks either have or don't. Wow I sound pretentious now. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't answer re Reading that. Lol
Ha ha come and have a go. That's a lot easier than me trying to describe it in any meaningful way. However, for those of you not in Cardiff..... It's 40mm so not massively wide. The wide traditional C type is about 44mm It's deeper (fretboard to thumb position) than my 62RI but it's not a baseball bat. Somewhere in the middle. Finish wise it's still got its glossy coat. I'd take the 800 grit to it if I was keeping it. I'll PM you the full gallery of big pics..
 15.
I always forget to play in the verses - this gives me more hands free to play the cowbell... And, yes, the song actually works with our female vocalist.
Your supposed to not play in the first verse ..
 16.
4:30 awesome
Yeah that was where the clip I saw came from.
 17.
How does the neck feel?
Hi, can you explain what you mean? Width, depth, finish or something else? Thanks OG Edit I see you are in Cardiff. Come round and have a go
 18.
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...pid=844562
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Schweet
 19. His Pickups are on backwards! What's with these backwards P Pickuos? They look so wrong to my eyes..
 20. On I'm in a rock band, the drummers bit had some distant film of Phil Collins on stage and there was that beard down front. Couldn't be anyone else Any good EweTubes of Leyland?
 21.
When I started studying heavily (3 years ago'ish) I wanted nothing more than to play sessions with people like Jamiroquai, Jay Z, Dizzie Rascal etc. I got taught by people who played with the big guns and it was something to aspire to, but unfortunately the spark died for me the day I went to a cattle call audition and saw all the competition. Recently I started to MD'ing, artist development and sessions for local studios. About two weeks ago I got a referral for some bigger work in London (via some local work) at which point I met the exact people who might be calling on me for future engagements. I can adapt to what ever style I need to, I can also sight-read to a very proficient level and have no problem with improvising. So, in that long winded story, yeah I could be.. I just can't do the big cattle call auditions. They're way too high pressure!
Once you make an impression and make contacts they will call you before the cattle market stage.
 22. If your family's next meal and rent payment depends on you playing like NDubs computer you'd be there
 23.
These are very nice basses - check out the link in my sig. Someone buy it, you will be pleased
Someone buy it, I will be pleased too Thanks Clarky.
