3.
Dunno - it does have a certain appeal (not sure what it is yet), though being honest I dunno if I could go on stage with it
See! if you let enough people know about things like this eventually one will come along who likes it

 5.
Just had the same issue this very week. I bought a small set of keys both metric and imperial. A 1.3mm fitted OK but the 0.05" seemed better. Cheers, Mike (newbie poster afraid to admit he's got an (just gone bang) Ashdown amp)
Welcome Mike Do not worry! The Force lives on the forum and will help you recover from your ashdown just ask inteh tech bit Re allen keys: they vary between sets, manufacturers and country of origin. I recently had to spend a whole £1.99 in Wilkinsons to get a set of keys which had one to fit my SX Jazz truss rod which has a Chinese made 4mm socket .. it's almost 4mm but not quite... I took the detached neck in and just worked through their collection of Chinese made allen keys til I found the best fit ...
 6.
id llove this tbh, but i cant afford anythin at the moment if you could find someone who would buy my torque 100w 1x15'' amp off me for about £100, then i may be able to buy it!
Have a look through the wanted section?.. I think there's some possible interest in a cheaper combo there.. I'm in no great rush.. I can keep it off the bay for a while if you think you can raise the dosh soonish .. And as you are in Bristol that helps cos its a tad heavy to post... When does your bass, I mean Student, loan next show up?
 7. Seems to be a bit of a Théme Noir going on I was reminded of something from the Entwhitle film on the telly last week. John's wife complained that, despite the lights, including s super trooper folow spot, she couldn't see him easily on stage in his slow black crow black fishing boat bobbing sea coloured stage kit so he bought 20 white suits .....
That's cool. Try a bypass loop then. I suppose that wont work for people using the DI from the Zoom.
may well try that as I have a few foot switches lying about .. Mind you I'm running out of floor on stage
 11. I tried this and the Trace Elliot SMX and decided to keep the TE one. So one unmarked Aphex Punch factory optical compressor £55 posted ... (seems to be the going rate) Read All About it - Sound on Sound mag review "This new optical compressor not only has a smooth sound, but also has gain-reduction metering to help you set it up."

 14.
Welcome to Basschat, Dan! How about something like the Warwick Profet 5.1 for the head? I've never tried one personally, but I know someone who uses one with a home-made 115, and he gets a pretty decent metal tone. I don't have enough experience with cabs in that price range to give a valid suggestion, although maybe I should point you in the direction of either Hartke or Warwick. This is perhaps the most important rule - make sure you try before you buy!
I don't quite see this doing the job, specially visually, but just in case, I have a Warwick CCL 1x15 combo for sale http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry119728
 15.
You misunderstand, but I understand. I was implying the recording could of been improved by employing the services of Derek William Dick. Hamster
Oh I thought you were implying he needed more work on his ... scales ..
 16.
For a laff I have just bought a lightweight kilt with the express intent of wearing on stage, but alas as my exuberant stage show includes "Busted" jumps, excruciating limbo dance type head-bangy crouching stuff and foot on monitor poses I doubt I'll be going commando like I normally would in a kilt.... or will I
Go on You could get a top following in the gay community
That is a bit crap, but you could just put it in a bypass loop which wouldn't cost much. I find working with a bypass patch at every other position works fine though.
Ah yes .. my use of effects is somewhat more unpredictable than that I'm never quite sure when dropping the intro to Voodoo Chile or you Really Got Me into an evening of barn dancing will be appropriate I usually find a space where it fits but our whole show is unplanned due to the unpredictable nature of the crowd...
it can't be set to change patch while bypassed/muted
Damn! OI was hoping someone could tell me how to do that .. It's certainly a usability failure in my book. Still it's so damn cheap ...
To be honest - I think the real problem is that you can't name the patches, and being as I'm the wrong side of 40 I can't remember where i put what. Ironically, I seldom change patch during songs - just have a patch set up for a particlular song - i.e one for 'Starlight', one for 'Come as you are', a generic clean patch, one with chorus on etc. Now I'm adding more for the Floyd Tribute band - I can't remember if patch A4 was Nirvana or Sheep!! This works fine with the old style patch select - remember you could choose to switch it off and change directly - and you can see what patch you've selected.
I have a card with the zoom patch numbers and descriptions on it. I stick it on the floor in front of th unit. I only use about 9 so it's just neutral and 4 up and 4 down ... usually .. The more I'm using it the easer it is to remember where those pesky sounds are hiding .. Meanwhile if you are still looking to buy a zoom B2.1u there's one here for £72 plus 6.50 P+P http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=8183

 21.
I tune my bass at sound check, and then (depending on the venue/general situation) I try to leave it on stage to "warm up". That way it doesn't go out of tune when I start playing. Sometimes it's just not possible to let the bass get used to the temperature, and it's really annoying! It has on occasion meant that we can't kick straight into the next song, which is always dissapointing.
You don't have a silent stage tuner? Pop the sound off as the drummer does that mad crashy thing they do at the end of the song and tune away ready for the next song. Top Tip: Rember to put the sound back on before playing that big crashing chord intro whilst leaping off the drum riser ...

 25.
I hearby acknowledge that the TORT is the true path and I renounce all others. Even if I did nark it up a bit with the dremmel! The AxesRus plate was a rubbish fit! 4mm off the neck pocket (and a lump out of the treble side...oops!) The holes for the pickup screw mounting thingys was way too small, and I had to force it round somewhat to cover the control rout. Now it's on, I don't care about all that...it looks very SX'y!
