2.
I've been reading... I just don't really know what I can add really. Some people don't like the mag. Some people do. I don't think that will ever change. It could be worse. We could have just released a green bass with a bright orange scratchplate. ;-) Stu
So Stu, What's the new regime got planned for the magazine? Oh and I hope you will be reviewing the Fleabass when they get here.
 3.
my lifestyle:
Ah nice to know people still douse for clean underwear
 4. Ooooooooh Gobsmacked. Best not ever leave me in the same room as that
 5.
OK, you agree with CK, well done. My opinion is that BASS Guitar Magazine is not a bloody public service. They should get off their arses and do a proper job to gain some competitive advantage.
Feel free to buy any of the competitors they are competing with
 6. I like them both and pick them up every month. I look at the dots at the back and promise myself I'll kearn to read them properly one day. The reviews make me laff in both and the US mag has lots on people I've never heard of but that doesn't make it uninteresting. I agree with CK: Don't ask what your bass mag can do for you but rather what you can do for your bass mag otherwis two pages in a gu!tar mag will be all we get
 7. Spoke to my mate who's an Alexander Technique trainer and she recommends one that is an ITM person: http://www.alexandertechnique-itm.org/ Cheers OG

 9.
I was going to add this to the original thread but I can't find it so here it is: http://www.basscentre.com/4-string-bass-gu...ass-guitar.html It'll be interesting to read some of the first reviews to see what people are making of this. May go over to Talkbs and see if anyone there has one yet.
I've moaned at Mr Flea's bloke about it. I doubt if it will make any difference but perhaps they'll understand why they don't sell any here ...

 15.
Yeah, from the photos it doesn't have any strings. Rubbish.
or batteries
 16.
I had a series of lower back issues and had a few sessions with a sports' injury specialist. He told me about a set of muscles I had never heard about - transverse abdominus (TVA) - that run underneath the front set of ab muscles and wrap around the centre of the body, anchoring into the lower back. He considers these to be one of the most important muscle groups you can exercise, affecting posture and pretty much everything you do, but are largely neglected which can, if you are prone to back issues, lead to problems. Certainly since being made aware of this and doing the exercises until the right posture becomes second nature I have had far fewer problems. It wouldn't hurt to make a few enquiries. .
Yeah that's the "core" people rave on about in Pilates and other fitness classes ... Try doing "The Plank" - after checking with your doctor that it's OK ..
 17.
The pictures below are a few that Jon sent me prior to collecting Baby Doodle. As you can see, even in these small pictures, the effect of the flip paint is fantastic. Jon has worked on producing some really sumptious curves all round the bass to make an ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing instrument. It is sooooo comfortable and effortless. Expect some more pics soon!
Oh Ok is that it? Looks crap.
 18. +1 on the exercises. I had a problem and the Physio gave me a bunch of exercises that eased things - some of them can be done really fast between numbers in a gig without looking like a dork.. Some are about core strength and I now do a lot at a gym. Pilates could help with core strength Alexander Technique has a long history of working with musicians to helps your learn to do things differently and to work better with your body. As well as that you could try a wide strap, Comfort Strapp or Planet Waves Squid, For light basses there's the Steinbergers of various types - original Graphite ones and the Synapse, and the bat copies like the Hohner. The Fender P Lyte is a light weight bass too. They come up on ebay now and then. Or have a custom made, plenty of ways to get a great sound from a light bass there ..
 19. oooooooooh! You utter utter utter rotter
 20.
Cute and attractive members of the audience always want to touch my instrument after the gig
yeah I told them it used to be mine
 21.
+1 - Isn't the sound you produce infinitely more important?
ha ha of course not! Any bass player that thinks anyone other then them and maybe the one other bass player in the audience cares a hoot about their sound is deluded.
 22. Guitar??????????????????? Wash your mouth out! Oh and T bird .. sod the sound, no one but you will notice that, but they will all notice the shape of your bass ...
 23.
Thanks Si. The cheque's in the post... (j/k)
Ha ha Oh, I forgot you pop in here sometimes .. OK BC'ers, as he's looking, ignore that - he's rubbish and so is his tea ... actually you've never made me any tea..15 years you've been doing my stuff and no tea .. hurumph!
 24. Had this checked right through by two amp fixers as the "non-biamped" config buzzes a bit. It's very quiet when set up as a bi-amp with two cabs. Both have said it's "working as designed" and, in their opinion, would only be aproblem if using it for recording. IE not a problem live ... Thought I should tell you..
