2.
Evening all- I haven't been down there yet but I've heard it's pretty good. Apparently there's a good open mic night in Guildford too. Any ideas?
Yes the White Lyon is good night. I shall be there tonight with DJ5. There is also a Jam at the Live and Let Live in Guildford. It's once a month on a Tuesday but not sure if its the first or second. I'll find out tonight. It's run by the same guy who runs the White Lyon Jam.
 3. Welcome. Ever get down to the Thursday Jam at Worplesdon?
 4. I concur with P-T-Ps comments about the DJ5. Amazing bass, ever better with a J-Retro, in my opinion. Once I sell my Status I will be after a DJ4.
 5.
I imagine that going for a lot more than £950. Good luck with the sale!
It did. Congrats.
curly leads rock!.... why don't you see them much these days?
I just treated myself to one of these. What a deal. Changed the plugs to Neutriks. It's great.
 11.
Hello, I wondered if someone could answer a question for me? I want to run a DHA rackmount unit from a Power Conditioner. I was thinking of making a cable which has a normal socket on one end and plug the other end into the Power Conditioner. I could then plug my normal 12v adapter into this then into the back of the DHA. Would this work ok? I think it would work I just wanted to check I wasn't being stupid Cheers, Jim.
No problem with that at all. You could either use a flying 13-amp socket or get one mounted on a plastic wallbox and secure it inside your rack. Run a cable from the socket to an IEC plug. Plug in your 12v adaptor. The other alternative is to find a 12v dc supply that has a captive mains lead, rather than a plug-in wallwort type and just fit an IEC instead otf the 13-amp plug. You can secure that inside the rack with tie-wraps or velcro.

 13.
Rudgwick Music Festival is the same day as the South East bass bash -- but I'll say hello if I get there Cheers Mark
Rudgwick is great event. I played there with Old Blue Moses a few years ago. The Bash starts at 10:00am so there will be plenty of time to come there and go on to Rudgewick later.
 14. Joe Cocker's Unchain My Heart. Not quite a bass solo but very bass driven by T M Stevens.
The Watkins Rapier is a fairly well-known 60's guitar, widely used as a first 'serious' guitar by quite a few of our parents / grandparents.
........ and us and our contemporaries. You forget there is no upper age limit on BT. Lead guitarist in my 1963-67 band had a Rapier and played it through a VOX AC50 amp and T60 cabinet. Great sound. I recently acquired a WEM 2 x15 cab from a fellow BTer. Nice bit of history.
 17. My tonal requirements have changed and consequently this just doesn't get played any more so it's got to go to enable me to acquire something more suitable. Headless Status Stealth-2 5-string in black with the optional mid-sweep EQ and blue side LEDS. Comes with the obligatory Hiscox case. Made for me in late 2005 and not used very much at all, in fact it's only been used about once since the 2006 March Bass Bash. Offers in the region of £1400.
 18.
I believe OBBM has one.
Correct. Unmistakable a Stingray but with overtones of carbon fibre. Loads of sustain. Very punchy. Rarely needs adjustment. This one doesn't have the standard factory pre-amp or pick-up. They'd been changed before I bought it so a direct comparison is difficult. (BP if you read this maybe you can help me try and get the electronics back to original)
 19. As a DJ5 owner I'm with Homer on this one. 1. No-one sells at list, not even The Gallery. 2. Bass Central after shipping and duty, etc. equates to about £870 delivered. Both those are new bass prices. Used will take at least a 25% hit. Good luck with the sale. I'll be following with interest.
 20.
I dont think I'd be able to resist the extra £500 for Status neck and Nordy pickup tho...
Well that ones easily solved because you can't get a Status neck for a Sterling.
 21.
Maybe its your speakers. If you need more power than that you must be playing at ridiculous volume.
That's right. You haven't given us the whole story. What speakers are you using. I did an outdoor thing recently using an ABM-500EVO, Trace 1152 (1x15) and a Trace 2103 (2x10). It was loud. The volume never above 10 O'clock all day. BTW I'm looking for a Trace 2102 to partner the 1152.
 22.
I ended up buying an Epifani UL502.
Welcome to the club.
 23.
I'm not talking about a £50 or £100 premium on the US price. I would be tempted to pay that. It's reasonable. £400, though? Nah.
My comments were regarding distrbution of US products generally. Having had a trawl through AI Focus prices in the US, Europe and the UK I must agree that in this case the UK distributor is without doubt taking the p*$$. Why not complain to AI directly.
