Thanks for the prompt reply, Dave, I will have a play with it today, but I will probably buy one of your own power supplies if you are bringing any to Bassday Cheers Andy

Heres one for Dave - I noticed during a gig last night that my VT-1 was causing some high pitched squealing and the on/off switch was causing a loud "pop" when operated. Obviously in mid gig its impossible to experiment to find the cause so I switched it to bypass and finished the gig with no problems. It worked fine for the first set and became apparent as I switched it on after the break. I'm using my ACG bass into the pedal , into my Markbass LM2 head and Eden Nemesis 1x15 cab. No other effects used. I havent had chance to have a look at it yet this morning, I just wondered if you had any thoughts ? Cheers Andy

Due to the arrival of a shiny new wheely bloody bin, recycling boxes and end of season garden furniture special deals, I'm having to create a bit of space in the garage, so a clearout is in order. I've got the complete set of BGM taking up space , most of 'em have only been read once then stored in rigid magazine files, so all in excellent condition. I think theres 32 of them, from issue 1 to the current one. £45 to anyone who can collect them from Swindon. I'm away tomorrow afternoon 'til Wednesday this week so apologies in advance for delayed replies, should there be any interest. I'll try and get a shipping quote when I return if theres no takers Cheers Andy
I like the look of the tribal planet gx40, but so far I haven't been able to find an on-line dealer selling them - ebay doesn't show any at the moment. Any idea who might be selling them on-line? Cheers Martin
I recently got one off of ebay, from a seller called "davesmusicaccessories", he gets them in batches of 5 or 6 from time to time. Can go for a song, free shipping too. They are a bit bulkier than your average gig bag but offer more protection. If you're ever in swindon give us a shout and check mine out.

I've never found the BTB to be a thin and weedy sounding instrument, unless you EQ it to be that way, theres a lot of tone shaping adjustment at your disposal. I have never had any problems with the 'B' on one of these, the 35" scale gives decent tension, but I have to say, the Bootzilla strings articulate a bit better than the original elixirs, IMO. Couldn't tell you how it does for tapping, as its not a technique I've given any time to, but you can get the action pretty low if thats what you need
+1 for all the Ibanez suggestions, but do try the string spacing. The SR505 is great, but the string spacing is very tight. If you can find one, have a look at either the Ibanez RD605 or 905. Second hand you could probably find either a MM Sub or Warwick Corvette - both well worth looking at.
The BTB is 19mm, which is the same as a Jazz or Precision 4, plenty of room for a slap if you're that way inclined!
I have one of these and they are very nice!! can get a lot of different tones out of them! very nice active bass and a steal for that price and condition
Cheers, Shaun, I definately think they come out tops in that price range

New aquisition leaves this fab bass surplus to my requirements, so I am able to offer this to fellow Basschatters at the bargain price of £225 + shipping. For the price, you really cant get better specs, check out the monorail bridge, 18v electrics 3 band eq with semi parametric mid control, locking neutric jack, 5 piece maple/walnut neck, lovely quilted maple top under a transparent black finish, 19mm string spacing at the bridge, 35 in scale allowing a nice taut B string, with better articulation than many basses that are 3 times the price. This bass has no dings or buckle rash, a perfectly straight neck and comes with a new set of DR Bootzilla coated strings, straplocks and a gigbag that has seen a bit of action! The only less than perfect aspect is the satin hardware, which has gone a bit dull, a common occurence on these. It really is a joy to play, not too heavy, well balanced and has a great range of tones available. This would make a great transition from a four string, back up or gigging bass. Grab yourself a bargain!
I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but I'm sure I recall that it was played it in E and the track was varispeeded to F (or maybe the bass was tuned up a semitone). Its certainly seems a lot easier to play in E.
Norman certainly plays it in F, and he effortllessly uses "one finger per fret" even on the low riff! The "live in Colchester" dvd has some great close up action of him playing it, as well as being a great entertaining watch Talking of entertainment, check out Norms solo on THIS Enjoy!
