1. Was he trying to start a circle pit? Truckstop
2. Mr. Foxen, I listened to some Caricatures stuff just now and it made my skin crawl it was so evil! Nicely done! Truckstop
3. Maybe it should be a "Name some bass players you just don't really like very much" thread? Truckstop
4. I really dont think you could say that John Myung is a bad bassplayer. He plays all his own stuff on the DT albums and he pulls it off live better than alot of people that play 3 hour gigs. I'll agree if you say he doesn't really 'think outside the box' when it comes to inventive bass lines, but honestly, any more and he'd end up being one of those over-the-top try-hards that ruin a lot of potentially good songwriting. Insert Flea. That guy needs to chill out and calm down. His bass is just so overpowering (in a bad way) and it feels to me like he's thinking "hmmm....this song is bit boring, so i'm gonna jazz it up a bit but throwing in some chords and high popping". I really can't stand RHCP. Truckstop
5. When I got Dream Theater Scenes From A Memory DVD for my 15th birthday. Never heard of Dream Theater before then and they just blew me away. The next day, I bought my first 6 string and honestly, have not touched anything since with less strings. Truckstop
6. OH MY GOD I WANT IT! I wish I had money and something I wanted to trade for it. Sad bump. Truckstop
7. What travels faster? Sound or a digital/analogue signal from a transmitter to a receiver? I was only wondering because some wireless users complain that after they stand 50ft away, there are latency issues. Surely, this is just because at that distance it takes time for the sound from your cab/PA to reach you. Like, a noticeable gap between you doing something, and then hearing it. Not necessarily a latency issue is it? More a sort of... physics issue i guess! Truckstop
8. Are there any restrictions when it comes to digital wireless sets? I was thinking of buying a Brace Audio DWG1000 but I'll not bother if it's a PITA to sort out a license for it and everything. Thanks John, this has been really interesting to read. Truckstop
9. I actually still have and use the thin crappy black nylon strap i got with my very first ever bass (a Squier P-Bass with a 15w amp and viper cable nearly 10 years ago!) on my Washburn with Grolsch washers. Truckstop
10. At the risk of sounding like a bit ladylike, the veneer on that last one there is absolutely gorgeous! What is it? Truckstop
11. Honestly, i'm not too bothered about not selling it. Like I said, I love it again. I guess i'll just have to save for a few more months to buy the ESP im after! Speak your brains! Truckstop
12. In which case, i'm going to withdraw this beautiful guitar, didnt get any solid offers. Got it out of its case, played it a bit and fell in love with it all over again. Truckstop has spoken!
13.
Great basses,could do with a hardcase too,but alas,no cash But here's mine
Ha ha, fancy a swap for the red one...? Here are some pictures though. Finally worked out where the 'manage current attachments' menu was(!). What information would everybody like? Speak your brains! Truckstop
14. I once paid £139 in 2005 for a Stagg something or other purely because it had a wick suburst paintjob done on it. The pickups fell out all the time, the action was high enough it had its own weather, the 'A' tuner kept falling out and it sounded a bit like someone humming on a piece of cardboard. I've still got it on my wall cos it does look really really tasty. Biggest disappointment was the Yamaha RBXJM2. Has none of the class and joie d'vivre of the JM1. Still a great bass, but after the JM1 it didnt really live up to my expectations. Speak your brains! Truckstop
15.
Moving it now....
Oop, sorry. Truckstop
16. Hello all, I want an ESP so i'm going to have to part with my blue Yamaha RBXJM1. It's been played for nearly 10 years so it could do with a bit of a clean but all the electrics work fine. Sounds great; legendary bright middle growl and quite unbelievable clarity really are the selling points of this guitar. Built like a house and weighs almost as much. I'm even throwing in a hardcase too. It's battered, but it's still got three catches and it has a handle. I'm looking for about £500, but try me. You might catch me in a generous mood. If anyone's interested, email me and i'll send you a load of photos of my actual guitar, but for now, here's a stock photo courtesy of google: Speak your brains! Truckstop ([email protected])
