  1. About a month after joining here I traded my 4 string for a 5 string. I had, up til now, only played 4's and never felt the need to change. I've now had the 5 afew months and I can't help thinking about getting a 6. Getting the 5 has really changed the way I look at the fretboard and now i keep getting the urge to go up a little bit more. Has anyone else had the same quick transition from 4 to 5 then pretty much straight on to 6? cheers T
  2. Yep, traded a bass and bought and sold plenty of pedals on here, hardly used ebay since signing up lol T
  3. Just got a blowtorch pedal and loving it, however, would like it to be modded so the blowtorch button is on a second footswitch rather than the silly side mounted button its got now can anyone on here do this for me? Thanks T
  4. Nice tracks dude, quite behold...the arctopus in places. And the footage looks grand man, must've been a great trip T

  7. Sorry guys, muff has gone, will update this tonight Tx
  8. making money in music, as far as I can see, is easy as long as you don't hold any particular musical values dear. i.e. if you are willing to play what you are told to play and don't care about the end product then yeah; a living off music is do-able. If you hold any kind of artistic ideal close to your heart then it can be done but you will be lucky. maybe i'm cynical as a "metal" player but I don't expect to ever make a living off playing music I love, if I do then its a bonus. Artistic license wins ever time. Tx
  9. lol i figured that much, what would you say is a reasonable price? It's fun but of little serious use to me cheers again
  10. okay so this is a HAZlabs model, nice condition, will put pics up in a mo, no psu. what effect does the fact that its hazlabs have on the price? cheers Terry
  11. big price drop, over-streched myself already this month cash-wise lol
  12. it's been a real sh*te few weeks and this seems to be really doing it for me at the mo. christ I love this band and this song
  13. Got some more stuff that I really want to get so this is up for grabs. Got it a while back pretty much coz it looked retro etc. don't really use it much, its not for me. Will put pics up but it's in a good condition, shows signs of age but thats it. £250 delivered Terry
  14. This makes for good reading, my two cents is thus: There is one "rule" that cannot be broken. If it sounds good it is good. All else is frilly icing. I am neither for or against being self taught or getting lessons etc although I myself went down the self taught road which has sometimes meant feeling like i'm not getting anywhwere but I am, it just takes a bit longer to make sense of where i'm going.
  15. dude, music should only really be about expression and fun. If you want to make money from it then do whatever pays but apart from that, and this is from personal experience, sticking around in a band that you dislike WILL make you hate playing music, or it did to me at least.
  16. hey man, i've not been on here long and have already done some buying/selling. First off use the feedback section, I traded a bass with a guy on here from Finland. Really wasn't to sure about sending my bass to some unkown chap but saw the feedback, talked to him abit and felt he was a good guy and luckily I was right. Most people on here are pretty cool and won't screw you. One other thing, first don't think you'll look stupid to get your folks involved, if you see something you want etc. and call whoever is selling it don't be afraid to get an "adult" to have a chat with them too. I don't think anyone would be bothered by that and maybe feel a little better as no-one wants a phone call from someones folks a month later asking them why you've taken all their sons birthday money or something for a new bass. Just a thought
  17. This puts me in mind of my first proper band, after about 8 months we just finished working on a great new song and the singer had been away for a while and hadn't heard it, so after playing it to him three or four times he decided he didn't like and didn't want to sing it. So we had a chat and decided tough titties and we would play it as an instrumental as it was by far the most acomplished thing we've done. The only time we ever got to play it live he walked of the stage, we got about a minute through it, and some random jumped up on stage and starting doing some jungle style rap/mc sh*t over it. Was absolutly fantastic and made all the sweeter by most people telling us he was better than out singer. GOLD
  18. lil ol bumpo for this'un, really looking to trade more than sell, oh and piccies up
  19. last bump before ebay, just want to get rid of these now £30 for the muff and £70 for the synth
  20. Man endings for my band are probably the most worked out and practiced part of our songs, Intro's tend to be very organic and jammed, at least while writing the song and then perhaps a little more structured, but the endings we spend alot of time on to try and avoid clichés really, plus most of our songs live flow in and out of each other so the classic stopping dead and hung note while drummer bashes cymbals don't really lend themselves to that. I think most people are agreed though that a well thought out ending can really add alot to any song. On a slight side note after playing guitar hero metallica its funny to note that that band simply cannot finish a song. False endings are fun but not for your entire set/repitoire lol.
