1. Do I remember rightly that these are rather nice? £125, collect only, NW London. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bassmaster-funk-Bass-guitar-gig-bag-/152149177516?hash=item236ccc34ac:g:0ZUAAOSwEjFXdD~Z
2.
I think exposed wires and control plates on the back could catch on.
They could catch on lots of things. Hopefully the new owner likes to wear trousers to play
3. Having said all that, someone paid less than £20 for a neck, a couple of pickups, etc.... Didn't think that one through... and I'll be near Frome on Friday.
4.
... PS. If it's finally a Fender you like the look of, why not build one, or I'll build you one. I was going to add up what I spent on bits at some stage.
Thanks Phil. Yeees... an idea of what it cost would help (mostly to make me sure I can't afford to do it ). I agree with cocco, the Tele headstock is the key. Unfortunately I don't really get on with Tele necks, so I'd have to cut down a J-type neck, which shouldn't be too bad - I've got something which might do. Let me have a think.
5. I like this. I think we've already had a thread about it, or one of its cousins?
6. I actually laughed aloud.
7. Nice one! Finally, someone's built a Fender I actually really like the look of... I'm pleased it came together for you. I thought when you sold the neck a couple of months back you might have abandoned it.
8. Deal fell through - still available.
9. Got one of these. At least as good as the Cirrus BXP (active, but the preamp is not all that nice). I like it a lot. Good luck
10.
Sorry to hear that mate.
Thanks. I was going to hang on to it, but it's not worth anything, I have a better fretless fiver, and I need the space. Strip for bits it is. In all honesty, it's sad but it pales into insignificance this morning.
11. Infinity fretless six-string in Sheffield. Quite pretty. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Infinity-6-string-Fretless-Bass-Guitar-good-working-order-blue-green-/152141452323?hash=item236c565423:g:nFMAAOSwGIRXbDQ4
12. "officially licensed" from whom? I think we should be told.
13. It's not shifting. I was going to buy a loom from KiOgon for it. I think it'll be for my old red J-knockoff instead. Shame.
14. Enigma electric guitar: https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/enigma-electric-guitar-great-condition/1174963638
15. Blimey... I want! (Though it would have to be a four-string... I haven't got enough use for fives to justify owning them.)
16.
As Grangur says if your truss rod adjuster is seized, loosen it rather than tighten it as you're less likely to break it. I'd also recommend a proper penetrating oil such as Plusgas
I will give it a go. So far, no joy
17.
That's not good with the neck. Sorry to hear that. If the oil doesn't work. try WD40 and try moving it to loosen off, rather than tightening.
I love advice like this - correct as soon as you hear it, but not obvious until then. Thank you
