1.
The problem you have is that you won't post it, I was interested until I saw that. But 500 miles is a long way to go.
That's true, I understand, but unfortunately I just don't have anything to pack it in. I might be picking some cheap bass today and I think it comes with a gig bag, and if that's the case I might consider posting it if I will be able to sort out a box.
 2. So, even eBay didn't work here. My reserve price was £180 and so it is my final price drop. Still hoping to find a good home for this bass as it's a shame seeing it sad on the stand while my fretted P's are being played every day.
 3. Lack of interest forced me to ebay it. It's there, on auction. There is a reserve, a bit below my last price drop.
 4. Ok, first £200 will take it. That's the lowest I'll go. Otherwise I'll keep it for that one day when I get a fretless GAS again and remind myself there is one actually sitting in the attic
 5.
Would you please share the nut width ? 38mm Jazz or 42mm Precision ? Thanks ! H
Hey, just made a quick picture with a ruler on the nut for reference. Also neck profile is more like Jazz than Precision.
 6. There is something that caught my eye, so I will let it go for £250 ONO to whoever would pick it up first. No postage guys, sorry, just don't have anything to pack it.
 7. Hey guys, Wanted to try the fretless game, but I just play my fretted Precision all the time anyway, so this one seems unhappy and looking for a new home. Bass is in as new condition, fitted with flats. It's very light, not sure about exact weight but it's the lightest bass I've had. Lovely sunburst, no modifications at all. Sounds great too! [s]At the moment it's for trade only.[/s] Looking to get Jazz Bass, preferably with rosewood board. No boutique jazzes though as budget is tight. Don't mind throwing some extra dosh towards the trade but as I said, budget is tight so Mexican standard Jazz would be perfect. Otherwise maybe some Japanese replicas like Tokai. I am based in London, so please keep that in mind as I'd like to trade in person so we can both check the basses out. I don't mind travelling out of London within reasonable distance though. [s]Trade only at the moment[/s], but you are more than welcome to message me even if you would like to buy it and if I'll have no trade offers or offers that won't catch my eye then I might sell it and just buy a Jazz instead.
[sub]Beauty!..Is it strung B to G? ...What's with the hole[?] at the front? [/sub]
Hey, yes, it is B to G now. Also not sure what 'hole' do you mean? There is absolutely no holes anywhere Also it is sold now as someone picked it up this evening.
 12. Thank you very much guys. Cheers Andrew, it's a shame but what can I do... I just had a very nice chap around who came to try it and liked it but he is also going to check some other basses, and I have one more who wants to come over to have a look. Might be gone soon but for now I am still happy to hear any other offers.
 13.
Gorgeous instrument!
Thank you Kev It didn't hurt as much when I was splitting with my girl a few years back like it does now. Edit: Also want to point out that for a part trade it doesn't have to be a bass, you can hit me up with anything as long as there will be some cash coming my way.
 14. It is breaking my heart that I have to do this, over the past few years I had many basses that came and went, but this has been my main pride and joy that I promised myself to keep until I get old. Not going to tell the whole story why I need to sell it, you can have a look at the topic here - http://basschat.co.u...london-heeeelp/ , just a series of unfortunate events… So this bass was ordered and made for me, I have had a couple of other GMR basses before I ordered this one. It was made to my specs and I have chosen the beautiful buckeye burl top. It would cost you probably more than twice to order it brand new now. It’s obviously 5 string with rather narrow 16.5 string spacing, and it’s also 33” scale and it makes it really comfortable to play. It is a single cut construction, but my precision bass is actually heavier than this (it’s definitely not super light but I have never felt any discomfort playing even quite long sets), don’t know exact weight but will try to check and update soon. Full specs: Buckeye burl top Mahogany body 5pcs flamed maple neck (neck-thru body) Rosewood fingerboard Bartolini pickups Noll 3 band pre-amp ETS bridge It is fitted with a nice ramp between pickups - it was made at The Gallery in London and is held by a very thin double sided tape, it can be removed without any marks, I know because I have done it once before. Currently set up B-G but I had it originally made with E-C. Both configurations sounds amazing and there is no need to change the nut. Not sure what else I could say about it, it is my baby, the craftmanship and attention to details is amazing, everyone who had this bass in their hands was totally impressed by it and I always had a lot of positive comments about it. It’s in great condition, of course it does have some small marks here and there as you would expect from the instrument that was played a lot, but nothing that would catch the eye. Anyone is more than welcome to come and try it. Also due to the value I won’t post it as I don’t have anything for that but I’d be happy to meet somewhere half-way. I am based in NW London, near Brent Cross, just off the M1 and A406. This is a very urgent sale, so I am open to some offers, it would need to be gone by 2nd Feb, as I will be leaving for a month on that day. I am open to part-trade offers but that would need to be for some budget bass with significant cash amount. Also please check my feedback, I am basschat member for quite a few years now and made some trades here. Here are some random pictures of the bass, I’ll try to make some proper pictures soon.

 16. Ah, I am super tempted but thats a bit far from London and I am not too keen on buying before trying.

 18. Sold Novation Bass Station synth to Ordep. Very nice communication, he came to pick it up at the time we discussed. Very nice and friendly person, highly recommend for any future deals. Thanks again and hope you are going to enjoy it! All the best Pat
 19. Bump. Still here, great synth, get yourself more gigs! edit: really need the cash at the moment so dropped the price to £230, if this won't sell for that I'll just throw it on ebay.
 20. Ok, i am pretty much sure that trading this for a bass will not be easy, so now I will consider straight sale at a firm £250. I'd rather not to post, but as it comes in it's box, I can wrap it up and send it at a buyers risk, but would prefer pick up or I could drop it off anywhere in London for free or outside of London within reasonable distance for some petrol money. PM me if interested, thanks
 21. Hey guys, haven't looked here for a while! Thanks everyone for tips, some very useful info here. Just want to say that my function went well, already played again with this band and have one more booking next month, so it wasn't that bad even that I made some mistakes here and there. I ended up learning almost everything by ear, it wasn't as hard as I thought, just been going through the sets once or twice a day skipping the easy tunes, and wrote some quick chord charts with laid structure for the more tricky ones, but i only had to do it for 3 or 4 tunes.
When I was in music college, I used to find local cover bands online and learn their set to a deadline just for 'fun'. You can also do this with any bands obviously.
That's great, I was also thinking about doing that a while ago, and even went to one bands site, made playlist on spotify but never actually sat down to do it. I need to stop being so lazy.
Sorry, "As far as I know" isn't good enough. Get the confirmed set list, with keys, and find out which versions they are playing. How long are the sets? How many numbers do you really need to learn? All 40? That's a lot for a function. If you're going to assume anything then you risk screwing it up and that might just be the end of your function band career. A few weeks ago I was told to learn a version of a song which was in a different key to the set list. It turned out the set list was right. You've got to catch these things before you start to put the work in.
What I meant here was that I actually 'do' know, as I have asked that before. Maybe it wasn't the best sentence, but english isn't my first language. I wouldn't risk not asking as my transposing skills on the fly aren't the best, unless I have iReal Pro in front of me
