john petrucci cant talk enough about a allan holdsworth he loves the guy and you can see why
2. im ok when going into shops in general but when down denmark street shops i do feel quite intimidated by the atmosphere in some of them
3. how about john petrucci the man is like a machine the man can play 3 hour shows 100% note perfect some of his playing is beautifully majestic and some of the heavier stuff is up there with metals heaviest

14. i know a few scales stuff like that and i do love the learning part it just fries my brain lol and to reply to what warwickhunt said im sure i read somewhere once in an interview once where steve harris said he didnt know hardly any theory i would never put the man down he is the master
15. hi guys i love playing bass but most theory goes way over my head.4ths 5ths ect leaves my bamboozled. my question is do you really need a vast knowledge of theory to enjoy music my band has a cd out althought not ground breaking i have always just played by ear and play what sounds good to me. I wouldnt know if i was playing bass chords or just playing with myself. i suppose im just insecure in the fact that if i dont know every bit of theory going ill never make it as a decent bass player my 2 favourite bassists are john myung who knows the bass inside out and the other is steve harris who even though is an absolute monster on the bass would admit to not having much knowledge of theory id love to here some of your opinions jamie
16. welcome mate load of good advice on here plus dicks like me who know f*** all
17. i gotta buy some batts for the camrea then i will promise lol i would have preffered one with a maple board but this one was reduced cos some dick dinged the body while trying it out so it had 50 quid knocked off woo hoo
18. 1.steve harris- the man who got me interested in the bass 2.duff mckaggen-always loved that chorus ladden tone and back when i was 12 looked cool as hell 3.cliff burton-dude was mesmerising how he could shred on a bass 4.geddy lee-could never play his bass lines let alone sing as well 5.john myung-guy plays with such a finesse very underated
