Hi James, Where did you buy your harness from as I'm thinking of fitting one of my jazzes with stack knobs. Cheers, Ray
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=370087265600 Took a week to be delivered and no duty/tax either.
They'll probably actually both be 0.047 uF. There is so little difference real between 0.03, 0.047 and 0.05 in practice that it's a surprise Fender have labelled it as such. Check the values printed on the capacitors and if they are the same just go ahead with them. Also, for that type of capacitor is doesn't matter which way round they go - there is no "polarity" to them. Good luck !
Thanks for that. I'll give it a go.

Cheers for that, I'll have a look over the weekend - I'm sure the two capacitors I've got are the same value??...

Thanks but I can't see the diagram I need - its a twin knob control plate with a tone for each volume.

I've bought a stack knob control plate, but it's all unsoldered. I've had a look at the pdf on the Fender website, but it isn't very clear were to put the orange capacitors I've got with the kit. Does anyone have an idiots guide as I've never really dabbled with soldering before.

Where can I find a Jap Jazz scratchplate?
Jamesemt replied to Jamesemt's topic in General Discussion
Geek99 has one - it's attached to the 62 RI Jazz I just sold him but he's planning a refinsh so the plate my be changing ...
Cheers - is it off white or regular white? -
I've bought a Fender Japan Jazz 62ri body but it doesn't have a scratchplate. I remember reading somewhere that the holes will only line up with a Japanese scratchplate. Is that true? Anyone know where I can get one? Ishibashi want £34 for an Allparts one shipped... I'm looking for an off white/parchment
Sounds like a plan .
Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but does anyone have any experience of using one of these with a Precision?

Just bought myself a pod and controller, and just wondering what bags would take both? There is a Line 6 bag designed for the xt and FBV, but not my smaller foot controller - its designed for the bigger FBV. What bags would be a snug fit?

Never had any problems with my Fender P through a Superfly and Eden cabs until last night - I changed basses (to a Jazz) and couldn't stop the amp clipping. Now I realise that my technique isn't great but I turned the compressor up full and it made little difference. I kept turning the input signal down so that with regular playing the green LEDs were at about a 1/3rd but was still managing to get the amp to clip on occasion (maybe gettig a bit carried away...). I think the problem stems from me normally playing relatively quietly (err until a big chorus??!!) - is it more of a technique issue? Do I need a limiter? Is this thread even in the right place??

In the process of renovating an old Peavey 2x10 cabinet, and would like to recover it. Anyone know of a paint that a DIY incompetent idiot can apply and look good? Maybe a textured finish or something?

I've got two pairs of those RS130 headphones for recording with. They are fine IF you are prepared to fiddle around with the transmitter to find the best location, depending how far you intend to move from the base obviously. Plenty enough bass for me.
Latency, deffo. I'll speak to the man later and let you know how we got round it.
Cheers mate, I'm turning the band into a bunch of depressed timing obsessed zombies!! 50th take, anyone???
-
I've started recording the band playing a few covers and have already hit a few timing problems. First off, the drummer brought his electric kit down and we tried recording along to an MP3. His timing was slightly out no matter how many takes we tried. I put it down to pilot error However this morning the guitarist came down to record his parts afresh (along to a click track, not the mp3) and really struggled with one part - in particular on Summer of 69, the guitarist really struggled adding the arpeggios during the chorus (and gave up). Now is this just dodgy human timing or is something else going on ie latency? Must add that none of the band are gimps (well apart from me...), the guitarist is a grade 8 RGT. Software ius Cubase LE with the Cubase updates. Any advice? I'm thinking of changing the soundcard anyway as I'd like to have a go at recording a proper kit, so would need a few more inputs.

I'm looking to swap my brand new unopened Nickel round d'addarios for a couple of sets of decent acoustic guitar strings. Or will add cash for a couple of sets of long life acoustic strings. Must be acoustic extra light 10s or 11s. Also got a set of Ernie Ball regular electric guiatar strings in 10s to swap (Regular Slinky).
Hi mate, I think the MIDI functionality would be useful for triggering things in a VST but not much use for recording the drums. Best bet is to take a line out from the drum brain, a stereo one, and stick that in yer' recording device.
Cheers for that, I feared as much! How accurate am I likely to be balancing the volumes of the kit? As obviously once it's recorded, I can't turn the hi-hat volume down etc
