1. Are you in during daytimes? Maybe I could get it delivered to you and pick it up in the evening, easier that finding some couriers collection point.
2.
Now I'm just plain scared....that bass must be only about five miles away from me. That's too close.
Its still in Wish's workshop at the moment. Neck isn't shaped, even by his standard.
3. Seperate reverb tanks seems to sell better. People find them that way, guess put reverb tank in the listing title.
4. If it is a bin job, whip out that reverb tank, they are handy, and the transformer has a scrap value if you accumulate such things (or know someone that does).
5.
6. Not come across much like this before: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wilson-Bass-Guitar-/260861356444?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3cbc8c699c
7. Kay is back, without a case: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kay-Bass-Project-guitar-/280745556854?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item415dbd3b76
8. Higher priced ebay auction finished bump. Get ya BC cheaper priced one here, might even entertain offers.
9. I'm not living there, just that's where the workshop where I make the metal bits is. The whole town smells of smoked garlic and incense, and all the shops only sell crystals and dreamcatchers. Not Doom. The House of Bass was dissolved at the start of the year. No noise complaints there, in the middle of the city, in spite of the whole testing cabs to see where they fart out in the living room thing.
10. More to do with the Buy it now being really low. It sold in minutes.
11. If someone sees something like this pickup only in central bristol sorta area, just grab it, and I can sort picking it up and sending it out for appropriate money (postage, bus fare, a beer) and some time.
12. I'm right in the middle of this otherwise empty mill, divided into workshops: http://maps.google.c...=h&z=19&vpsrc=6 I'm using a 70w amp, not even turned up to 2 out of 10. This is what a Barefaced Super 15 can do for you.
13. Could be loads of things, only way it is worth trying to find what on an amp that cheap is so you know a bit more about such things for next time.
14.
It will alter the tone.... but it will be so slight that no one (even yourself) will probably ever detect a difference. That "luthier" who told you never to take the neck off... never have anything to do with him again. From his arse, he doth speak.
At the very least he can't put a neck back on properly. Good enough reason not to use him as a tech.
15. Wll you pull and wrap the valevs, and pack it for a courer to collect?
16. It isn't high string guage you want necessarily, it is high string tension, to compensate for the detuning. There are other ways to achieve it than thicker strings. That said I used a 0.145 for my low A, in steel because the brighter sound is due to stronger overtones.
17. Totally not worth that much cash. More of a hard to do better at the price at £150-200 sorta thing.
18. Is pretty comparable to a Ibanez, I'd be tempted by it. Probably a very serviceable bass.
19. It have a slave out?
20. Get hold of a variable high pass, it is more enlightening as to how important frequencies are to tone than charts. Basically, you miss surprisingly little below 60hz, even 100hz still has your tone, but missing a bit of guts. Spent lots of time detuned to A.
21. Half rebuilt nasty KAy: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rickenbacker-Bass-Copy-Project-Kay-Bass-/280744972820?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item415db45214
22. A lot like the Eden one, which is same thing with the box upside down.
23. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280741230133?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649
24. Hoyer is back: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Very-rare-vintage-Hoyer-Bass-1970s-vintage-Fender-hardshell-case-/290613490838?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43a9e9f496
25. Tweeters do tend to show up deficiencies in setup an technique, it is good for practice, but bad for doing stuff. It is pretty likely the tweeter is connected with spade connectors that will pull off/push on. Put in a sticker saying which was which lug, and disconnect them.
