6.
I love Squarepusher and have been listening to him since I was 17 but I've never listened to him for his bass playing. Not that I consider him to be a bad player or anything, but in the broader context of his music, I often forget he's a bass player because his bass sounds so far removed from what I associate the sound of a bass to be like. I find a lot of his music really inspiring. He owes a hell of a lot to Daft Punk for that LED mask though
i got into him after randomly seeing him perform at glastonbury 2001, the only time iv seen him perform without his bass. his recent albums havnt really done it for me, but watching that documentary has reignited my interest. if not for the music, but for the awesome concepts and processes involved. and yes i thought of daft punk when i saw the mask, but linking the display to the music definatly elevates it beyond mere plagiarism.

 9.
I don't think the thin aliased sound of the whammy is very suitable for bass.
when using oct up mode I'v found this myself, which is why i want a looper pedal with a blend knob. why they dont put a blend knob on the whammy i'll never know, but i also kind of like the fact when using the oct up oct down mode you can whack up the treadle for some high pitched crazyness then bring it back down to brown note heaven. or just leave the treadle up and hit the switch on and off. My biggest gripe with the pedal though is the fact its not true bypass, i'll soon be attempting that mod. its just not cricket. WHAMMY TIP OF THE DAY - Calibrate it so its ever so slightly off for some rich oscillations
 10. all that gear and she makes a sound like my cat puking. OT i only recently got my whammy but its mostly been used as a makeshift seesaw for my goblin minions

 20. I'v been gas free for a while now, pretty much since i put a j-retro in my jazz bass. When i say gas free i actually mean bass guitar gas specifiaclly, i need to improve my home studio. Now something has come to my attention that i'm really struggling to let pass by me. I keep trying to tell myself 'its just another 4 string fretted bass, you have 2 of those and they are both great and there are other things you need DONT BUY IT!' but another niggling voice keeps saying 'but what if this is THE ONE, and you probally wont see another for a long time. REMEMBER THAT SB700 YOU LET GO LAST YEAR YOU FOOL' So I guess im looking for some support here. My name is Cycrowave and Im a gasaholic....
