  1. I dumno..it works on my brother's old laptop with Windows XP faultlessly. I managed to get a driver for it to work on Windows 10 for about three days then the inevitable windows update broke it again by replacing the USB driver with a later ( non working version) it's just far easier to have an old cheap ( I see xp netbooks for £30) xp laptop for this and use that....takes all the headache out of everything.
  2. 500 watts into 4 ohms ( 2x250w output) Includes the windows software. Programmable Preamp. Software works a treat on Windows XP not so much on Win 7 and 10.( The driver software is the culprit ........I've heard you can get around it in Win 7 and Win 10 but I gave up trying.....) Small but solid. This is no MarkBass or TE Elf featherweight. Tatty but fully functional. It's gonna be 10-20 quid to ship I should imagine. Open to pickup of course. I work in London so a meet up there is possible as well as here in Norfolk.
  3. Right. The basic cab is a light but strong ply cabinet. Used to house 300 w Fender driver ( heavy but not overly efficient. ) No crossover and vented slots at the front, it’s surprisingly light and sturdy. I upgraded the driver ( at considerable cost) with a Faital Pro 15” HP1060. These are not the cheaper modified FH/PR range you find in the Vanderkley cabs but premium HP range ...offering the same Faital pro sound with elevated power rating. This driver is rated at 1000w ( 2000w peak) and with 97dB sensitivity is an easy drive for lower powered amps. It’s 8 ohms so can be coupled with another cab without killing your amps power stage. Collection from Kings Lynn...audition is possible in a room without other folk. Just you and an amp. ( Social distancing is still key at this time).
  4. My First Trace Elliot amp.... Bought for £600 In Birmingham 1989. Lasted til 2002 when amazingly it got stolen from a gig. We had just set up and sound checked and went off for some food... came back and there was just a bunch of leads where the amp had been. This was in a bar in Tolouse in France. I had to do the gig with my Sansamp and a side fill. The Gendarmes were useless btw.
  5. Saw him play at a gig here in Kings Lynn last year with Kimberley Rew ( Katrina and the Waves) lovely chap to talk to. The free bonus was a certain Thomas Dolby was there too doing a couple of tunes solo as the warmup act!
  6. Neck is straight, action is about 4 or 5 mm til about the 14th Fret then rises to 5 or 6 mm by fret 24 (doing the measurements with a diy tape measure not a micrometer so might be a mm or so off) Neck thickness is about 22mm (so neither thick not thin ..it’s thinner than my Shuker Jazz but similar to my Status Empathy 5. String to String Spacing: at the nut: 9mm ( string centre to string centre) at the 12th fret : 12 mm at the bridge : 16mm nut width is 42 mm
  7. Thanks for clearing that up fella....😀
  8. This is sold pending the usual
  9. ive just been made aware that I paid way over the odds for this when I bought it. In this case the price has had a £100 reduction and is available immediately without the 8 week wait of a new one.
  10. Exactly! Buy this one instant gratification and not vat/duty hassles. Make me an offer today lol....
  11. Well the VAT was £71.75 and the duty was £8.75 on a £349.00 bass so sorry it stands me £430 .50 in not £450. Not far off mind...
  12. It’s 240v/50 hz in Qatar ( a hang over from it’s days as a UK colony ) but the head had come via the US airbase ( Al Udeid just outside the city) so when it arrived it was wired for 115v and came with the transformer. First order of business was to change the mains in on the transformer in the Trace from 115v tap and connect it to the 230v tap. That negated the need for the transformer so I then worked without it. so I can’t tell you how noisy the transformer was...
  13. Well Ladies and Gentlemen. I bought this bass last year through Ali Express and with the shipping and taxes and duty it stands me about £450. I got it to serve as a platform for upgrading the hardware as the electronics and a hardware are basic. After about 6 months of not having the opportunity ( time) and now being furloughed indefinitely I don’t have the cash to carry out the upgrades. It’s constructed out of Maple (through neck) and has a very thin veneer of Spalted maple on the body and headstock. It has a rosewood fingerboard but I don’t know what the other woods ( the stringers for example maybe walnut or mahogany maybe something else) it’s a solid 5 KG so not for those of us with dodgy backs. The bridge is unknown Chinese origin but the Omega/badass is a good replacement. The pickups are the same size as EMG 45’s which is a six string pickup so bear this in mind if you are looking to replace the rather ordinary ones in there already ( the Aguilar 6 sting bars pups fit too!)quite why they chose a six string pup for a five string bass is quite beyond me....the active Pre is a 9v OEM design neither awful or outstanding. The real value of this bass is the quality of the body and neck ....it’s simply Amazing for the price. It’s heavy poly finish protects the wood and it’s a beauty to play too. And....the less said about the cheeky butterfly at the top of the headstock the better. I’m not passing it off as anything else but the cheap Chinese bass it is and it’s suitability for a platform for upgrading. Offers & trades? Sure, hit me up with what ever you have... Message me if you have queries etc.
  14. War torn bass head needs a little tlc electronically. One output works ok the others need attention ( possibly output mosfet replacement) other wise functions ok. May even be sorted by switch cleaner on the Mono /Biamp switch. I never bothered I just used the good output in my rehearsal studio for years! Sold as a fixer upper but works if you use the single good output. The other outputs sound gritty and distorted. Cheap as chips for a 700 watt head! Any queries drop me a message....
  15. Excellent condition, lightly gigged ( less than a dozen outings) monster bass head. I won’t get into the controversy around the wattage but it’s safe to say it has more watts than you would sensibly need. The tonal flexibility is amazing and the compressor does the job as it should. It’s big iron amplification with a big sound to match... any queries pm me! Thanks for looking!
  16. Eminently fixable... I repaired the uv lamp the mosfets and the caps in this series 5 in Qatar in early 2016. All the parts were available from the local electronics shop ( maybe I’m spoiled here as they look more like RS than Maplin) I’m a broadcast engineer so this is like bread and butter repairs to me but never let it be said they are difficult to service. (Don’t get me started on modern multi million pound broadcast equipment some of that stuff is seriously no user parts replaceable haha)
  17. Lovely bass. And let me add mike is a great guy to deal with.
  18. First generation made in UK version. Performs fautlessly. Slight wear on the knobs top surface but absolutely nothing affecting use. Has send and return jacks if you wanna add Reverb via a pedal. ( I used a Behringer Digital reverb pedal for this purpose yours for an additional £20! if you want it!)
