Hi Donslow, weird, I have 3 (!) Red tortoiseshell, Black and White. They are all 3 layer 7 screw. My OLP body is in the garage so I just need to check / verify tomorrow and let you know that they fit straight on. Hey all, what a great response. I'll email JD the details this week and update this post for interest. I normally use Elixir coated extra lights (my small hands) but I had a spare set of 35-95 Warwick Reds so have changed to those and what a difference. Must say the JD preamp set up seems impressive. The last through neck I had was my old Ibanez in the 90s and this JD feels tight and fast even unplugged. Really appreciate all your feedback. Cheers . Hughie

Hey folks, I've just got this black Jaydee from these very helpful guys at Twyford near Wokingham ttp://www.bassgear.co.uk/. It's a Mark King Signature Supernatural with a serial number and 'Custom Made for Graham Foster' on the neck. Of interest is that it hasn't got a rotary pu selector, it's got the 3 led push switches - seems unusual I know I can contact Jaydee but thought someone on here might have an idea abouth age and the pu selector buttons Cheers if so .. Hi there, I want to sell my S1 2006 Fender Jazz but I have no idea what the current value of these are. Can someone give me a ballpark maybe before I put it on the For Sale list on here? I'm the second owner and have had it for 2 years. It's totally original. I got it to play at home and I've never even had it out of the house and have hardly used it - hence the sale. Mine was made at the Fender Corona plant, has the G&G case, Fender case candy, Fender polishing cloth Fender tools even a Fender plectrum all in their plastic bags. It's serial number is z5 222164. Bass condition is perfect bar a couple of small and one very small marks bottom back so maybe from a music stand. I have seen others with this so maybe it's a related to this batch or similar. I could have had it fixed but leaving it means it's original. The correct G&G case will be included to keep it all together. The case came some external usage marks but is absolutely perfect inside with 2 keys in their plastic bag and what appears to be the original silica gel pack. It also has Fender case candy, Fender polishing cloth Fender tools even a Fender plectrum all in their plastic bags. Thx in advance if someone can give me sime guidance. .. I use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2 in 2 out) hardware soundcard + driver ... cheap, effective, has everything. Even works seamlessly with Linux. U can use it as your only PC soundcard for everything else too. I commented on an Audacity question just now, and the two are completely compatible in Windows or Linux Cheers.. :-)

.. once u get used to it, it's straightforward but some of the terminolgy takes practice. Audacity is like an old multi track recorder with unlimited channels and a massive level of editing. One you've got it open the help function (top right) is really really good. You can import mp3 files or wav or whatever. When you save an open activity in Audacity, it saves it as a Audacity project file so that when u open it next time u can continue to edit etc. If u want to create mp3 or wav or whatever just use the export function not just save. As an aside, I'd normally use FL Studio and or Studio One for creating music but because i use Linux rather than Windows, Audacity can be used in both I'm discovering how good Audacity is. Linux for music has previously been impenetrable for me so this is all good stuff. I've got a Focusrite sound card and Audacity always works and easily. Just plug a mic or guitar in and press record. One thing I use Audacity for is transferring my old saggy cassette based songs to PC. Then I can add reverb, change tempo, repair the mix, repair holes add compression etc etc etc etc ... HI guys, Just to add to the confusion, I also had much trouble finding the Wilkinson MWM4C wiring codes - there are none. This particular Wilkinson pickup is a 4 wire humbucker and the 4 wire means you have a choice and can wire it various ways. MM Stingray pickups were hard wired 2 wire in parallel so no choice and just +ve (hot) and -ve (ground). Here my twopenneth worth .. ie what I determined with a volt meter. Neck coil .. Black is + (hot) positive & Red - (ground) negative Bridge coil.. White is + (hot) positive & Yellow - (ground) negative [u]SERIES[/u] (note: in series, electically has to be .. +ve to -ve to +ve to -ve etc ) - this as already stated in posts above gives you White as (hot) +ve Red as -ve (ground) Black & Yellow joined together (taped separately) End result is 2 wire, in series, +ve and -ve leads [u]PARALLEL[/u] (note: in parallel electically, all - ves have go together and all + ves have to go together) - this gives you White & Black joined as +ve (hot) Red & Yellow ground joined together as -ve (ground) End result is 2 wire, in parallel, +ve and -ve leads If you for example, want to have a switch to change between series & parallel or have 2 volumes like OLP / Fender Jazz or have a blend pot, then you can split the white & black as separate hot leads and there are others... Well, interim OLP update, I decided to strip the bass to it's component parts and refinish it .. the original metallic blue OLP paint was a bit dodgy .. Here's a few pics after a few coats of Halfords White Primer, all the parts and my little helper :-) Routed hole is big enough for a tiger tank. Clear rear coverplate is template for doing it in black when that arrives.. I can see your's is the real deal and you must have a lot of hanging space for the various others :-) My OLP certainly needs help (my wiring & pots disintegrated) but it can get v expensive. I did notice that the Kent Armstrong pus are only £51 so would probably try that next if the Wilki isn't up to snuff... I saw a post from you on talkbass re the Uncle Fluffy diy pre-amps - have you got one of those?

Just fyi .. went into Fret Music in Soton this week to look at new basses etc .. We didn't do any business in the end but thought I'd share that the service was terrific.
