1. Thanks and agree it is beautiful. Really love this bass but needs must.
2. Selling my Pedulla MVP 4 string. In good condition and with original hard case (with wrench), also in good condition. Price is £??? firm, which I think is fair. Images:- Plays and sounds superb and the quality of craftsmanship is amazing. If you would like an example of how these basses sound, below is a good clip:- I live near Colchester, but travel to London regularly. Willing to courier at cost price, would guess about £20. Thanks Simon
3. I'm selling my EBS stack, it pains me to say. Only the Proline 115 now left. Images available at:- -- This is by far the best sounding rig I have ever owned, it is truly awe inspiring. All is in excellent condition and has been well looked after. Have had a new Groove Tubes pre-amp tube fitted to the TD650. The previous one was fine, just wanted to make sure it had a new one prior to sale. Consists of:- -- EBS TD650 amp - £sold -- Proline Evolution 2000 - 410 cab - 4ohm - 800 Watts - £sold -- Proline Evolution 2000 - 15F cab - 4ohm - 400 Watss - Sold Pending Usual Or if you would like the whole stack then the price is £mostly-sold. Prices are firm as I think they are good. I am based near Colchester but travel to London regularly. Thanks Simon
4. This is the 4 Ohm. It weighs 52 lbs. and dimensions are about 24''W x 16''T x 17''D. Power handling is 850 Watts, pretty amazing cab given it's compact size.
5. I'm selling my Schroeder 1210R cab I bought of Basschat. Just want what I paid for it £300, which I think is a very good price. Cab is in the same condition I bought it in, which is good. It's a fantastic cab, sounds great, excellent build quality and very compact. Please see original thread for details and picture, hope choffer74 doesn't mind:- http://basschat.co.uk/topic/173120-mesa-boogie-m2000-schroeder-1210r-both-now-sold/ Will post a link to some pictures of my own, but as mentioned it is in the same condition I bought it in. I'm based near Colchester, but do travel to London regularly to play. Cheers Simon
6. All PMs replied to. Possible partial trade on the cards. Cheers Simon
7. Thanks all and good luck with the sale of the Pedulla Shockwave, it looks amazing.
8. Would you be interested in a trade with a Bacchus Strong bass. Really nice quality Japanese bass with a nice thin Jazz neck that might suit you better. The neck on the Bacchus too thin for me really as I mostly play a Precision.
9. Thanks. I do think it is one of the better natural finish examples. Really nice flaming. Priced to sell hopefully, got to get my studio project finished off, been dragging on for far too long. Cheers Simon
10. Thanks cocco. It is a beautiful instrument and I know I'm going to miss it, but I need the money to get my studio finished off. Such is life.
11. N O W --- S O L D First time selling something here, although I've bought quite a bit and have some good feedback. Anyway, I need to raise some cash for a garage -> studio conversion, so something has to go unfortunately. I don't have any of my own pictures yet, but you can see the bass at the link below:- http://www.vintagean...me-Maple--20075 Condition wise the bass is a100% original 1977 Gibson RD Artist, in very good condition for age. I don't really know how to grade it but I would say 9/10. Comes in original Gibson hardcase, again in good condition for age, all catches work fine. It plays and sounds great. Everything works as it should, neck is perfect, truss rod is spot on, all Moog electronics and switches are original and work exactly as they should. It has a very nice flame to the maple, which is quite unusual. I live in Colchester, Essex. Bass can either be collected or I can send it by insured courier at whatever that costs (£20 -£30 I would guess). If I have broken any forum rules with this post please let me know, as mentioned this is the first time I have sold a bass on here. Cheers Simon
12.
I really don't know. It may be that the Reidmar runs out of steam quicker as you crack it above half gain. I couldn't really push any more it as it was already at the volume I use for playing live just below half way up and it must have been uncomfortable for the other people in the shop. It took me by surprise also. Really didn't show signs of strain work at the volume level that I need. It ran slightly warmer than the LMII, but still very cool.
The whole wattage rating figures thing just doesn't add up between brands to my eyes. I also have a Genz Shuttle 3.0. it's meant to be 300 Watts into 4 Ohms, but it is nowhere near as loud as the Reidmar. I took the lid of the Genz Benz and saw it used a Bang Olufsen IcePower power amp, that has a maximum rating of 200 Watts into 4 Ohms from Bang & Olufsen's spec sheet. Great sounding amp, but power seems somewhat over stated ;-)
13.
Hey, thanks for the review. That is so surprising that it was louder than the LMII. The LMII is 500 watts right and the Reidmar is 250 watts, How's that work then?
I really don't know. It may be that the Reidmar runs out of steam quicker as you crank it above half gain. I couldn't really push any more it as it was already at the volume I use for playing live just below half way up and it must have been uncomfortable for the other people in the shop. 14. Did a comparison test on Sunday between the Reidmar, EBS TD650 and Markbass LMII, all going into a 4 Ohm EBS Proline 410 (not the cab I would use with it but, wanted a good 4 Ohm cab so I could just concentrate on the amp). Volume wise, I tend to gig with the LMII just below half volume into 4 Ohms and half gain with the TD650 again into 4 Ohms (with 2 Ohm obviously need less gain). I compared the volume of the Reidmar at half gain (input also half way up), and it was louder than either the LMII or the TD650 at the same settings. Must admit that surprised me, I don't know how that works out but that was what I found. So, for my playing needs, it is definitely loud enough. It still seemed to have quite a lot left in it, although I couldn't turn it up much further for very long as there were other customers in the shop and it was very loud. Tone wise it's pretty close to the TD650, but is obviously missing the drive section. It has that glassy EBS top end, but the bright control offered a little less gain than the bright control on the TD650. 10 O'clock on the TD650's bright control seemed to be about the same as 2 O'Clock on the Reidmar. Also, using the same bass, the input control has to be pushed up more on the Reidmar than the TD650 before the clip light comes on. So looks like the pre-amp gain might be a little lower. Compressor functioned well, sounded the same as the TD650 compressor as far as I could tell. The low end on the Reidmar seemed a little bloated/un-defined compared to the TD650. I found myself reducing the low frequencies, either on the bass guitar or on the Reidmar itself to get some low end definition back. The mid frequency sweep on the Reidmar is centred at 600Hz, while the TD650 is centred at 400Hz. After I had noticed that (doh), I had no problem boosting the low mid the way I like it. Dynamics wise the Reidmar did feel a little more compressed than the TD650, about the same as the LMII. It looks well made, with a nice metal casing. It's made in China, but quality of construction and finish looked good to me. Carrying handle on the side may be of some use? Overall I was pretty impressed, I shall be buying one.
15. Had a try of a working version yesterday, after the first unit they had in in Colchester was DOA. First impressions were good. To my ears has the EBS tone with the glassy bright control, compressor good also. Appear very loud for 250 Watts. I'm going back to try again today with my own EBS Proline 4x10. Also going to take in a Markbass LMII and my EBS TD650 so I can make better tone and volume comparisons. Will let you know how it goes.
16. I went into Colchester today to try one of these out (I use a TD650 and Pro Line 2000 cabs from Tonyf, heavy but can't find the same tone anywhere else). I've tried Genz Benz, TC (which I just couldn't get on with the sound of at all) and Mark Bass (which I still use as my lightweight setup). But nothing comes close to the EBS sound to my ears, I know it's personal taste. Worryingly, when they plugged it in it was DOA!! They are getting a replacement in this week, so will report back on how it sounds. Would be fantastic if they have that EBS tone in such a light and compact package, and hopefully it has enough punch. Price seemed pretty good too at £399. From what they were saying in the shop the demo unit they listened to was impressively loud for 250 watts, will reserve judgement until I hear it myself.
