1.
Wow. If I hadn't ordered an overwater 33in recently, I'd have this in a second.....
Well... bad timing then:D... anyways I hope you have a good time with that overwater your getting, they make fantastic instruments!
 2. @ Kuzbass thanks mate! @Chris yeah the color is something different indeed! Thanks!
 3.
Might be worth uploading a picture of the filled in rout?! Also, what is this WTS system? I assume its a retro-fit mod, what does the work entail? Si
You mean WBS... Well these are brass inserts that are placed (screwed in) where the orig screwholes were in the neck. These inserts are tapped and there are 4 bolts that just look like the former neck-screws they turn into the tapped brass insers.... so you have a bolt going into a brass insert that is screwed into the neck basically, it's very snug and tight better then the original joint. But for anyone who wants to know what it is here's a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/WBS-Guitar-Bass-Neck-J...210164093716584 I'll try to make a pic of the filled rout
 4. Hi there, I never thought I would actually think about selling but somehow last few months I decided to do so. I play 33" scale basses that have 5 strings basically, and altho this is a real good bass I somehow can not get the same pleasure out of 4 strings so this is my motivation to sell.... Anyways here some details: -Color Black orig paint with definite wear and tear on it (which for 1971 was custom btw) -Alder body (its from 1971 stamped Chambers on neck pocket) There has been a made a cavity for a battery at some point in the bass it's life but filled again later under the pickguard I have never seen that though. -70s placement pu the pickups are 60s custom shop from Fender I have the orig. ones but theydefinitly need to be rewound to sound good again. -Pots are not orig. replaced by cts pots. 1974 maple/maple neck with block inlays white (stamped Torres) White pickguard I'm not sure it's orig or not. PU covers are there And the bass has the WBS neck joint system (brass inserts with tap in them) so you get a very tight fit and remove and put then neck on 100 times and it will never get dull neat system to be honest. The bass weighs in at 3.8 kg which is pretty light. Frets are in ok condition. All in all a great piece it's not a collecter but definitly a great player. I'm interested in a straight sale. I would say 1950,- Euro is a nice starter.
 5. Well this is the holy grail of bolt on!!! Very nice bass!
sorry for saying "please" but you got to inform your self some more. like i said, they produced heavy ash bodies in early '70s aswell - and light ash or alder in late 70s too. in example, my friend '72 jazz bass is heaviest bass I ever touched, while my '77 jazz were one of lightest. and so on and so on....I had several and tried a few from others. cheers!
Your right you shouldn't say please, glad to get that straigtened out... Anyway.... obviously you have a different view on things lets leave it at that. If you read my text good enough I'm talking about the majority, not about exeptions, but that don't matter cos you will never agrea that the majority of later 70s basses to early 70s basses are heavier, and pure and simple the majority of basses of the late 70's are ash basses and early ones are alder ones. So we're done we don't agree, and ofcourse i'm poorly informed, which suits me great:D Take care now little cry baby
 7. This bass used to to mine, it's tone is to die for, biggest B string I have ever heard. I actually am not very happy to see it up here tho....
and late 70s fenders are heavy? please. there's heavy and light ones from any era depending on wood they have used
.... I actually informed myself pretty good on this subject, so dont say "please"... Late 70s stock Fenders (not custom instruments) or atleast almost all of what I have experienced (had in my hands) or heard from 3rd parties are heavy to really heavy basses/guitars indeed, that being said late 70s fenders have ash bodies and early 70 ones have mostly alder bodies (appart from the natural finished ones), not that there is only heavy ash ofcourse... but still most ash pieces are heavier then most alder ones (appart from specific swamp ash which is very popular by a lot of beautique bass builders nowadays). Light bodies are made of trees that grow fast/ had lots of light so trees that where standing at/or near the edge of woods. Trees that grow slow are heavier cos they have more compact grain thus the more mass and more weight, so a conclusion could be Fender "selected" differently over the years perhaps different tone goal I'm not sure. More mass is more sustain and less resonace, less mass is more resonance and less sustain, hence the newer US sadowsky basses use chambered bodies cos Roger couldn't get real light bodies as easily as before, but in this way he found a manner to gain some resonance and loose some weight...
 9. I had an eyb bassiq 5 resoline, and these basses smoke!!!!!
 10. Actually I am looking for a Sadowsky that can do the Tal Wilkenfeld thing really well. I love the older Sadowsky's but I need one that has a darker tone to it then normal (some sadowsky have more of a bite that I don't like) I have a real nice early cbs jazz bass (1971 custom color body (black) with a 1974 maple maple neck.. a real player and inrcrediblely light. That bass is modded a bit but again is a real player don't know if you have any interest in that maybe? Cheers and ofcourse good luck!
...aye that 70's lead based paint was always a tad too heavy..
Well it's true early 70s Fenders are very light ones, (don't know about paint tho:D) and this one is not only light is thas the slim/jazz type nut aswell. You don't see that often! And please guys buy this before I get some serious attack of GAS here!!!

 13. The low-B is one of the best I ever heard (and its on a 33"), again this is holy grail stuff. I can even tell you the best low B I had before was on a Fodera Emperor 36" "James Genus" bass, that I sold to Rainer Bastian to buy this W&T. To give you some idea of the quality. Regards Bram
 14. And I never get over the fact that I have to even put it up for sale, cos beautique basses are so hard to sell these days... Thanks for the kind remark it is something else!
 15.
Man i would LOOOOVE that Tronics' (spacing and weight please? 3 band pre?) Can't believe that NYC is still there, those things kill, and it's quite elegant in this finish... Good luck with sale ^^
- 19mm spacing at bridge - 3 band with mid selector and cut boost and passive tone control, I actually dont believe there is any other pre-amp out there that offers that much - the weight I don't know it's not real light but certainly not too heavy, I guess I would say it has the weight what most NT Ken Smith basses have... - This is really the holy grail of basses trust me on that. I actually am not happy to sell it at all, but becouse the NYC is apperantly hard to sell these days I have no choice. So I'm betting on both horses and keep what's ever left of the two. Hope that answers your questions. Take care
 16. For Sale: Fodera NYC and Wood & Tronics Zoid VM 6 string. Some little info on both basses: The Fodera is a rare 2006 35" NYC in Black with flushmount straplocks, brass nut also has 2 band Pope pre-amp. The bass was played by Anthony Wellington and the white picguard thats also is included has the autograph of Gerald Veasely whom I met in the States, this is a top NYC Fodera! Next is my dearly beloved Wood & Tronics Zoid a 6 string that was specially made for Italian monster bass player Vincenzo Maurogiovanni. This is the most sick bass I ever have hold in my hands it features 33"scale banjo frets necktru consturction. Amazing player, if your into Matt Garrison type of playing this will make your day. I actually let this one go cos I have a custom order comming in within a few months. Fodera NYC 2150,- euro W&T Zoid 2300,- euro
 17. Ah you mean "those" stripes.... could be but I think its walnut or purpleheart, it's prolly not mahogany cos it has more visible great to it, which magony doesnt have. Anyways let's not debate more on the complementary exotic woods:D
 18. The MW stands for Maple Walnut so there is no mahogany in there. I had a similar bass a few years back great basses! Much luck with the sale!
