1.
Haha! Glad to be of service Buy it
Aye aye cap'n! Or rather, as soon as I've put together my Omni10 (I do have all the parts, just need good enough weather at a weekend to get outside for the sawing and gluing bit), and moved house, I'll start saving.
2. That's gotta be most concise review I've ever read that's made me wanna by the product (more than I did already) Mert!
3. Those Streamlines are gorgeous!
4. Bought it just so that I can learn that version of Joy to The World!
5. Those Ashdown EB180s get a +1 from me. I've had mine for two years - It's loud enough for band rehearsals but can go low enough for practise at home. As a combo I don't really like the tone as much as some other brands, but I take a DI out to the PA for gigs and the tone from just the preamp is great.
6. Sorry to keep the OT thing going, but that's really bad news about the band Ste. Hopefully there's something bigger and better waiting for you.

A second hand TE pedal from ebay?
8.
Sell yo ass, bitch!
Okay! I am coming down to to your part of the world this evening. How much are you thinking of offering?
9. We do a cover of Goldfinger's cover of Rio by Duran Duran. Also a cover of Simple Plan's cover of Happy Together by the Turtles. Edit: and our very own cover of The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News but in a similar stylee to the above.
10. I had to pop into Tonbridge this morning, to reclaim some property from the police station. There's a little music shop just round the corner which I thought I'd pop into while I was local, and found out the American Guitar Centre has it's base on the first floor. Lots of Fenders, Laklands, Warwicks and Spectors all in one place. But it was the Alembics that blew me away, I've never seen such beautifully built basses in my life and all just a ten minute drive away. Now, how can I raise £4k
11. +1 for Warwick Corvette 5 - you'd pick one up within budget right now and that's a lot of bass for the money!
12. Where are the pie charts? It's not statisitics withut some sort of graph.
13. I started off wanting to play bass, but my folks made me have guitar lessons for 4 months first. Since then I have always had an accoustic for sing-alongs but only a couple of brief forays into electric six-string. I just prefer playing bass - when I did land a guitards role in a band I found I was always listening to the bass and thinking "why is he playing my bit?"

Gotta love those Turbosouds - We've got their cabs and subs, QSC Amps and at the front end is a Behringer digital desk (which has been completely reliable)
15. You can't go far wrong with most of Yamaha's stuff.
16.
The drummer calls me a failed guitarist every month or so, usually about 65% in jest. 40% if I'm trying to use an effect.
Just point out that at least you're not a failed musician
17. I had the same problem - blistering on my finger-tips. I swapped to Stainless strings (Elites) and hey-presto no more blisters.
18. TBH haven't tried it yet Johnny, I needed a new straplock and wanted to try the JAN3 and when I ordered them from Warwick I got a new tin of wax at the same time. So it'll be another two or three years before I get round to trying the tung oil.
19. Passive P Smartbass is still something I fancy, but I've heard Status are dropping the Smartbass?

Back in the Day

Would pop down and cheer you on, but I'm gigging myself that night.
21. A "proper" (ie '80s) Warwick Thumb - still the best bass I've ever played.
22. Honestly, it's where you change the pitch of the note by pushing it across the neck with your fretting finger - haven't you heard that Ashdowns are particularly good for rehearsing this technique?
23. +1 for the Ashdown Electric Blue or MAG ranges depending on budget and new/secondhand. My EB180 is fine for home practise and bend rehearsals. I doubt it would work as a gigging amp, but I take a DI from mine and run through the band's PA system.
