1. If the BH500 is 250watt head, how many watts is the BH250? lol When I email TC last year when I still had the BH500 they said to me the amp is still 4ohm minimum load but can run 3x BC210 or BC212 and 2x BC410 etc .... They did not tell me the theory behind how their head works with their cab etc. I personally don't think they done anything magical, I think they just put some numbers on the amp/cab to confuse us lol.
2. hahahaha, TC haven't really give a proper answer to this when I email them when I first had the BH500.
3. The RS410 cab is rated at 600watt but the BH500 can run 3 of these. If the BH500 head is 1000watt peak then how it can run 3x RS410 which will be 1800watt in total.
4. The BH500 can run two BC410. If thats the case, the BH500 is a 1000watt head? Also the BH500 can run 3x RS cab, i.e if I run 3 RS410 and the cab is 600watt each. How does the maths work?
5. I don't really believe their is magic on TC heads. The head is advertise as 4ohm minimum load and the BC 2x10, 2x12 is ohm and the 4x10 is 4ohm. In theory you can only run two BC2x10 or 2x12 and one 4x10, but TC head can run three BC2x10 or BC2x12 and two BC 4x10. Which bring the minimum load less then 4ohm.
6. I don't have the head anyway as I'm running a different heads to my BC cab. My vintage Trace Elliot is completely opposite lol. It is a preamp attached to a 200watt power amp but it pump out 300watt but the amp only works in 8ohm otherwise it will overheat ....
7.
Is the BH500 a 500w head or is it TC watts? That's a genuine question as I don't know.
As far as I know it is advertise as 500watt. The only thing I don't get it is when 3x BC cab is attach how the watt will be distributed.
8. You be fine mate using the BH500 with tje BC212. Is loud enough already. Of course if you crack everything full on you can do more harm but you shouldn't need to do that anyway. 500watt at 8ohm you get around 300watt of power.
9. Thanks gsgbass The BC212 sound decent, I did have a moment where I want to sell it for something else but end up keeping it because the size and weight on this 2x12 too good for me to keep. I thinking about adding another BC212 in the future but right now is ok with one cab. The TE GP11 with this cab is insanely loud that I have to keep everything below 12 on the volume lol. Have you thought about adding the BC210 instead of the BC212? I think the 2x10 will work well with your 4x10 if you like the sound. Unless you aftering the BC212 to use it on smaller gig? Again this is my opinion only, but if you like the sound of 4x10 + 2x12 then thats all it matters
10. Here is my 2x12 cab
11. Is ok, I've found the price, was looking for pound but forgot is in SEK lol.
12. The TKS stuff look good, are they expensive? Can't seem to find the price on their website. I'm interest on a single 2x12 or 2x15.
13. Here is my condense version of the cab lol.
14. I've got a Ashdown LB30 and I'm still trying to figure out how to the preamp EQ works. I mainly use my amp flat atm but would like some assist on how the preamp works. I guess the preamp is different then the usual cut and boost stuff? i.e if the bass, mid, treble switch is engauge how it will effect the EQ.
15. I love my Ashdown lb30, good volume for the size of the amp 30watt but Trace Elliot amp is completely different animal. My Trace Elliot GP11 with a 200watt power amp which only works in 8ohm blow many 500watt amp in terms of volume. Trace Elliot amp is super loud.
16. Nope, haven't sorted yet.
17.
Here's the mix I've been working on today. The graphic is not a done deal, but this is the first time I've got the head sounding better thru the tone stack. Got quite into it, getting my groove on.. I'm going to carry this to rehearsal and see how it goes..
This is the type of EQ i do on my Trace Elliot GP11. The mid works great in live band situation. The smiley face EQ work great if i play slap bass.
18. Whats your 4x10 sounds like at high volume. I remember someone said the BC series distort at High volume but is not the case for my BC212. I haven't crack it at full volume on my amp to test. I don't think i need to.
19. Talking about this, I have just bought a old Boss GE-7B (brown colour) in decent condition off cash converter. Altho the description says GE-7 but the product title and photo says Boss Bass Equaliser. I've paid £36 inc PP for this. I guess it will do the job, i will be mainly using this to shape the tone abit better on the LB30, more control on the mid. I did think about the MXR or the Ashdown EQ but they cost over £100 for something i only use for one purpose. Good buy I guess. http://webshop.cashconverters.co.uk/auction-item/508511/boss-bass-equaliser
20. I use to own a passive warwick corvette, it sounded like a warwick should sound but a little bit darker and more thump in my opinion. Altho I like the bass but the dark tone is not what I wanted so I swipe out the MEC pickup for a set of active EMG and put a 2 band John East preamp on the bass. After the two mod the bass still sound like warwick but the tone is insanely good.
21. I have no plan to change it but just wondering if that happens to my cab but i can't see it happening as i'm careful with the volume and power i put in.
22. I was wondering will the power of the cabinet change if the speaker was replace? i.e if my BC212 speakers blow up and replace the two 12" speaker to something more powerful.
23. My Trace Elliot GP11 (300watt head) connected to my TC BC212 cab is very loud and the 11 band graphic EQ is fantastic to dial the tone I want. I also run the Ashdown LB30 with the BC212 for some very small gig and not so loud gig like church stuff, but I find it the LB30 have too much low end which sucks away the clean headroom before the amp start to get dirty. I like the trace elliot 11 band EQ but I don't want to bring that amp on certain gig, was wondering will a graphic EQ pedal will solve my problem for the LB30? If so a 7band or 11 band would do the job? Boss, ashdown or MXR pedal? or a multi effect unit like Zoom B3 which have EQ effect in the box?
24. I use a TC BC212, sounded ok to me and the most important thing is they are light as hell for 2x12. If you give me a MB 2x10 or 2x15 i think i would use that instead. The most stupid and most regret thing i ever done was to trade my Little Mark 250 and Markbass 2x10 HF cab for a ampeg stack ....... should of kept it and I probably still be using it .......
25. Hahaha, it was late night and I was reading this thread on a iPad mini. Mis-read and thought we talking about the BH500 by TC lol. Sorry ignore my post.
