  1. What’s your favourite and why? I'm not going to vote as it will make it a bit obvious.
  2. Most of mine do start life on paper, but as you’ve evidenced, a lot of songs multiplied by a few bands and it easily gets out of hand. I don’t play with some of the bands I dep for regularly enough to remember even half of it, so there has to be an accessible version readily to hand. Songs stretching to two or more pages just complicates things.
  3. The limitations of them when both of your hands are busy.
  4. Well, I charged it last night and hooked it up to my iPad this morning. Connection took seconds and it works like a dream. As previously mentioned in the thread, you can configure what the buttons do very easily. It comes set as turn page left and right with the two switches. The page flip is almost instant. Not only that, but paging right scrolls down if it’s more than can fit on the screen at the start and a further click right then moves over to the next song when it reaches the end of the tune. The left button undoes whatever you’ve done with the right. This is using On Song by the way. I’m not sure what other programs do. Very impressed by the build. Looks bomb proof and is very dinky. Much smaller than I expected, but functionality is not compromised by it.
  5. Yes, Anderson’s did that to me with my Line 6 Relay G75. The box was astonishingly large. I’ve just checked the other much larger box that arrived with the B200S-2 and it’s the wrong product entirely. Someone was having a bad day at Thomann HQ last week I reckon.
  6. I’ve had this happen to me before with Thomann, so I wasn’t overly surprised, but WTF are they thinking? 😂
  7. Thanks @TrevorR - order going in tonight 👍
  8. @TrevorR - yes, that works a treat. I’ve just scanned a multi page PDF and imported it to OnSong and it’s all there in one file. Quick question and I’ll stop pestering you 😀. So now it’s in OnSong, the pages are stacked on top of each other instead of scrolling left to right, which is fine. If I get the BT200 and turn the page with that, I assume it instantly goes down to the next whole page or does it scroll down for as long as you have your foot on the switch? I’m hoping it’s the former cos I’m going to want the next bar in front of me fairly pronto.
  9. I think I’ve found where I was going wrong. There is a toggle switch in the scanning app for choosing either JPG or PDF. It was set to JPG which is limited to one page. PDF obviously allows multiples. Thanks @TrevorR 👍
  10. Question....Up until recently, I've managed to condense everything I've needed to read onto a single A4 sheet/single PDF per song. The set I'm learning right now has some songs in it that are 4/5 pages long and a lot that are more than one A4 sheet. My usual approach to using On Song is to scan the A4 sheets into DropBox and then import the scanned images into On Song from DropBox. I'm not sure this method will work well with multiple page tunes. @TrevorR or anyone else have any thoughts about dealing with multi sheet charts.
  11. Thanks for the advice Trevor. I have to say, the more I hear about the BT200, the more I’m thinking that may be the way to go. I have a nice little gap on my pedal board at the moment which that would slide into nicely. The added bonus of it being fairly rugged under my clumsy feet also appeals. I’ll have a think on it.
  12. Me too normally, but I’ve maxed out my RAM playing new stuff for dep gigs.
  13. No, I haven't bought one yet. It would be good to know that it does the job and if you really don't need it, I would be happy to buy it mate. When are you next at Mushroom? (don't say the 9th 😂).
  14. Funny enough Paul, I was just looking at one of those on Thomann. They have a B-Stock one a bit cheaper than usual, so may get that as the blurb says they do work with iPad. I need a few other bits from them anyway, so I can get free shipping too. Am I right in saying it has a rechargeable cell? If so, what life do you get from it?
  15. Now that I have the attention of at least half a dozen Rush fans (😂).... Don’t slate me; just hear me out first....then slate me. After last months ‘learn a whole set in 8 days for a dep gig’ saga, I’ve signed up to help out a fellow Basschatter with a gig for his tribute band next month. Whilst I am familiar with about 75% of the set to listen to, I’ve probably only played a handful of the songs before and only two or three of them recently. Due to commitments with my own two bands, a large charity event for which I’m learning another different set and the other bits I’m doing, my head feels like it’s about to go pop and I’ve decided I’m going to write everything out for this one. To that end, I have nearly finished writing out the whole set and some of the songs stretch to three of four pages. When I do read to play, I use On Song on an iPad Pro but have never used anything more than basic notes on a single A4. Can anyone recommend a good page turner that will definitely work with that app and my device. There seems to be quite a few on the market, but you can’t beat a Basschat recommendation. Commence slating.
  16. Just had another live track back from mixing from a gig we did in Brentwood, Essex last year. Sounds mustard even if I do say so myself. Can't really share it as it's not final yet, but will do soon. I feel privileged to be playing with this bunch.
  17. This gig was almost a complete disaster in terms of getting anything put together that was even remotely watchable/listenable. I set my Zoom up in pretty much the only safe place I could with a decent view of the whole of our stage area. What I didn't do was check the camera after everyone, including the singers, were set. As a result, Natalie's face is obscured by her tablet on a stand. D'oh! Luckily, the promoter decided to film some of the set on a handheld camera and also had the good sense to take some video of the very enthusiastic crowd singing along. So, this chops between both cameras and has a few effects thrown in for variation. The audio was recorded as a multi-channel through the desk and mixed seperately. I would usually also mix in some of the Zoom audio to give it a bit more of a live feel, but the drum sound was so overwhelming that it sounded better without. So, Starman - hot off the press. Enjoy (hopefully 😎)
  18. I signed up to the forum and messaged the guy. Nothing ventured and all that.
  19. Had a traumatic hour in next yesterday with Mrs.H doing some clothes shopping for our imminent holiday. The majority of the shirts on display are slim fit, which I ain’t. Went to River Island instead 🤪
  20. Interesting. A nice couple of photos would do the trick. Thanks for that.
  21. If I went that route, I would undoubtedly end up looking like a dog’s dinner. Nice thought though 👍
  22. I quite like the third one. I'm lead to believe the shirt he wore actually depicts a cartoon of some description.
  23. So, the blue picks have arrived. They’re not as light in colour as I thought they were going to be, but if I’m going to use one, I prefer Dunlop Tortex, so I’m happy to compromise 😜 New Schaller S-Locks (Nickel) installed. Now, they’re rather swish and well thought out in their design update. I don’t know how long they’ve been around, but they seem to address a lot of the issues of all the other ones I possess. Not that I’ve generally had many issues with them anyway, but I’ve heard others have. So, I’m rather jolly happy with the way this has all turned out. I’ve sent an e-mail to Mark thanking him for all his hard work in getting it just so. It really is a joy to play. Thank you again if you are reading this Mark. Now on to the REALLY tricky part - finding something anywhere near close to that shirt John Deacon wore. I e-mailed the costume designer for the Bohemian Rhapsody film, but so far no joy.
