1.
I have endorsement/player deals with the following companies Tone Factor - Pedals Subdecay - Pedals Overwater - Strings, Basses and EA Amps Valenti - Basses I don't get anything free, well sometimes I do but I get lots of custom stuff done that isn't really available to the general public.
You in a solo/in a band? Got a site? I'm quite interested to hear what you're doing with all that nice gear Edit: never mind, I've just found your site!

  3.
From personal experience, I'd go for the excellent Line 6 Studio 110. Great sounds, small and portable and with the recording functionality built in, has a little more use than simply practicing thru. Alternatively, the Fender BDEC looks an awful lot of fun. Haven't heard or played thru one yet but have done with the GDEC (g**tar version) and it was amazing. T
Just had a look at your signature, you have a Fleabass and a Trace V8? The very thought makes my eyes water.......

Hehe that's quite a posh looking post I must say! Don't think you could have posted that on bassworld
  5. I've used the Bass Centre's online shop with no problems, however I've gathered that it's a separate entity to the shop in London so I can't comment on that.
  6. AND check out the Billy Sheehan stuff: http://www.rockstarsguitars.com/product.ph...p;x=0&y=771 Some incredible stuff there! 8 String custom attitude bass anyone?
  7. Wow, check out the John Entwistle stuff, they have some of his complete amp rigs for sale!
  8.
Yes it is, the online bumph talks of a nice 'growl' when it's turned up but this is pure nasty farting distortion. You think there could be a fault?
Sorry if i'm stating the obvious but have you tried changing the battery in it? The very first bass I got started distorting for no reason so I took it back to the shop where I bought it and the tech simply changed the battery and it worked fine after that. Made me feel a bit silly though.
  9.
My OLP musicman copy is a bastard to whatever you put it through. I'm sure there's something wrong with it. You turn the gain off at the input stage and it still distorts. I've never had to turn a bass down to nearly off to get it to play without distortion. Still it's a beauty to play if not to look at.
Hmm, that doesn't seem quite right. Is the bass active?
  10. What's the story with that 8 stringer? Looks intriguing!
  11. You're a braver man that I am attempting that, but it looks good though!
  12.
All the exposed metal bits have to be coated in a rare metal, gold's not rare enough. Its got to be futurinium or something pretentious sounding. Preferably with a trademark signs all over. Something reassuringly elitist. Yeah and then it'll sound like liquid jesus dipped in butter. Only then will I get respect from my fellow bass players and it will definitely help me address my feelings of inadequacy. The fact that it going to cost more than a years worth of therapy doesn't matter, coz I won't have to face my personal problems. Oops. Did I go too far? I never know...
The funny/sad thing is, there are people who actually think like that......... Oh yeah, it needs to have a boutique name like 'Chunkworks McCreamblender' or something. A name like immediately adds £200 to the price and thus, makes it sound better.
  13. If you're ever going to go down the Fender route, I really would recommend buying one from a shop so that you can see how it plays before you buy it. The quality control of Fenders is dire in my experience so you could end up with an absolute lemon if you buy blind.
  14.
and the colour of the LED's too. Blue ones sound the best.
Yup, you're right! You guys are also forgetting that a power conditioner will add BAGS of tone, and one with vents and handles in the correct places plus a good helping of LEDs (blue preferably) will sound even more incredible! It's the secret to Chris Wolstenholme's tone, he told me himself.
  15. Not so sure about amps but my Fleabass is *very* fussy with fx pedals, I think it just drives the poor things too hard!
