  1. I have one of these amps just for practicing in my room and I would like to recommend them. They're some of the biggest 15W amps out there and really, for a practice amp, are above par. I've not got a bad word to say about them and this is quite a bargain for a bassist who practices and doesn't have an amp.
  2. I know the lengths of the different types of notes and the dots and have a rough idea of some of the notes on the stave (FACE) but apart from that I have little else knowledge. I haven't done any music grades and I'm only 17 so there's still time. I do think that it is quite a big advantage being able to use musical notation, however as I can't do it, I don't know what it would be like.
  3. Just one guitar stand for just one bass. It's lonely. I might need another (GAS).
  4. I've been playing for around a year now and still have just my starter bass- a Hartke one that I got with a 15W amp. I mean to save for another bass in the near future though.

    Howdy!

Nice to have you here Ray.
  6. I don't like giving exact locations, but near Tiverton, I go to East Devon College.
  7. I have to agree with the guy that said Mudvayne. Happy? has been pretty inspirational for me and Rage against the Machine songs such as Killing in the Name and Bombtrack really get me going. They're simple but I love 'em.
  8. ^ At the moment I'm using Rotosound Swing 66's too but they're heavy (the highest gauge) and I really like them. Although I didn't find them tough to play and they didn't hurt my fingers, I lost the tone quite quickly.
  9. Wow, nice bass. It might take me a while to save up for one though.
  10. Hi guys, I've been playing bass for about a year now with a cheap Hartke SB15 pack (which isn't too bad) and thought I'd join these forums- seems much more exclusive than talkbass, being british and all. I play bass in a metal band and have many bass idols (too many to name) and some of my favourite bands are Metallica, Bullet for my valentine, Mudvayne and Stone Sour but I like a lot of other rock music. Oh yeah, and I'm 17 and go to college. Nice to meet you guys and be a part of the community.
