Festival gigs

Now, I've only played the Tavistock Summer Solstice fest so far, for the past 3 years. This weekend, we're doing the Summit Festival on top of Kitt Hill, near Callington, Cornwall. While it's certainly no Download or V, it has some years of history, and is certainly the biggest outdoor event I've played so far. Which is not that many, even after all these years! So tell me, what are your good and bad festival gig stories, pointers, dos and don'ts etc? Any pointers gratefully received! Den
3. Welcome! "Play various Fenders Jazz & P Basses." Now, that I can relate too...
4. Greetings, Gérald!
5. Howdy!
6. Welcome! You know you want a Fender Precision...!
7. Welcome! Sounds like my band!
8. The machines look like Grover Titans, not a good look on a Fender-style. IMHO, natch! Otherwise, rather spiffy, I think, red tort and all!
9. Howdy!
10. Welcome! Good way to chill! But better still on a stage!
11. Welcome!
12. Welcome! 51RI - now, that's a BASS! And chrome and stuff! Yum! Just like mine, in fact!
13. Welcome, from another oldie!
14. Howdy Josh! Enjoy!
15. Welcome! Glad you like BC!
16.
I once played the theme & variations of Schubert's "Trout" Quintet on an NS Design electric double bass - does that count? Jennifer
It certainly counts for something!
17.
Ive been in this situation before - it tends to be the bride and groom that want you there (and usually book you), and no one else could give a toss if you were there or not. Easy money but kinda soul-sapping...
+1, not a lot more you can say, really...
18. In the case of MIM Fenders, MOST of them are that good, and have been for some years now. IMHO, natch!
19.
You can use a P bass to play everything from Blues to Jazz to country to reggae to Indie to rock....
+1 at the very least. And in a traditional Telecaster-wielding country band, a 51RI is the only bass to have!
20. Howdy also from Cornwall!
21. Love that old Aria!
22. Welcome from another classic rocker!
23. Howdy! I'll give a plug for Markbass!
