hi,

I didn't know about the active/passive blend. I'd probably still mod it out - I'm one of those who thinks that the extra electronics give you their sound, instead of the raw instrument. Not yet met an active sound I like, although a Status S2 came pretty close...

6. Welcome! Glad to hear the broken bits are mending! Can't beat a good Precision. I bought a new fretless in '81. Should have kept it, although it wasn't actually a particularly good example. Didn't stop me playing it in a rock band for the next 5 or 6 years, though!
7. OK, my turn: I'm in a bog-standard classic rock covers trio called The Rock 'n' Roll Outlaws. We're based in Tavistock, Devon, and play all around this general area (although we have a private gig in Sutton Coldfield in July!). We are Sam, guitar/lead vox, Glenn, drums, and myself, Den, on the four-banger. Myspace: The Rock 'n' Roll Outlaws Lemonrock: RRO We have landed some really 'nice' gigs lately - Tavistock Civic Ball just gone, and the Kelly College Ball, a local private school. Having some time off while Sam becomes a Dad, then 12 gigs between 24/4 and 31/5! Phew!

hi,

Welcome! Despite my glue-like adherence to Fenders, I think that if I had the money and needed a fretless, it would be a Pentabuzz...modified to passive, though.
9. Howdy, and welcome!

21. The Standard P-bass has a 1.625" nut width. The Classic 50s is a C-neck at 1.75", so it is bigger. Other than that, it's a nice P-bass, and yes, the Road Worn is a reliced version of this bass.
22. Eeeargh! Horrible!
23. Nice list - thanks!
