Ah, but it also denotes Great Britain. One Britain is bad enough, can you imagine how awful 1024 of them would be? Oh, the tera! -

I'm looking to emulate great tones using the new multi-pedal I've just got, as I play in covers bands and looking to get more authentic tones. Hope to personally benefit from the wisdom and experience of basschatters and hope others can too.

Although the new one hasn't improved your typing. -
Is there a master thread where we can list the artists or songs that we want to emulate the tone for and players can reply if they've managed it and how they've done it with effects etc?
-
Whether it's single or double action. Hold a spanner pointing to the left and then rotate it 180 degrees clockwise. Return it to the left and rotate it 180 degrees anticlockwise. What are the two finishing positions?

I didn’t know Thom Yorke played the bass until I saw The Smile on Tiny Desk Concert. -

People who wear their basses low, and thus, have to bend the wrists on their fretting hands at a sharp angle. My prejudice is that they therefore cannot play well - and certainly not with dexterity and finesse. Yet I see such players on videos, in huge bands, and they seem to be managing OK. Maybe my prejudice is irrational... Also, I don't understand how mathematicians calculate Pi and assume that it is all smoke and mirrors. I have an irrational prejudice about an irrational number....

Dunno about that, some people will complain about anything! Obviously, I prefer playing the bigger, better gigs but I'm perfectly happy to play bars as well. Sometimes the bad gigs can be fun in a perverse way and provide you with the best stories!

Hey, everybody. My name’s Otis. I currently live in Indiana in the United States. I’ve played guitar since I was 13. I’m 50 now. Really gotten into bass in the last decade. I have five bass guitars. Here they are in the order I got them: Douglas WVEB violin bass SX Ursa 1 w/ Fender American Pro II neck and SD Quarter Pound pickups G&L L2000 Tribute Fender American Professional II Precision Danelectro Longhorn

If my band was still playing bar gigs regularly it would be tough on me. Over here the bar/pub band scene is also dieing at a rapid place. We probably don't gig as much as we use to. However the gigs we do are premium, and fun to do. I really think it's those bad gigs that cause guys to stop. I never hear complaints about the good gigs. Daryl

Very true. I recognized him immediately. He's not just technically gifted, he's highly musical.

They don’t. Try what @Stub Mandrel says above all will become clear - this is just a phase. All of this will be second nature in the very near future - I promise that No one is born able to play bass guitar just like no one is able to drive instantly
