Hello fellow bassists!

I'm JP and I'm from Barnsley. Musically, I'm into loads of different stuff. My good old dad raised me on a diet of Hendrix, Cream, Zeppelin, The Who, The Stones, and Motown. My 2 older brothers made me listen to loads of bad 80s metal and some good 80s metal. And in my 'impressionable' teens, Britpop (urgh!) was everywhere. So that's pretty much the entire lexicon of ROCK!

I've been playing bass for about 8 years now, before that I was a terrible guitarist!!

As for gear, I play through a Hartke HA5500 head with VX215 cab, which produces a monstrous sound. I'm also a bit of an effects junkie (I shall shortly be investing a complete overhaul of my pedal board, just so I can have more pedals than my guitarist!)

And lastly, my basses. The first one I ever bought was a '96 Japanese Fender Jazz. It's a bit beat up now, but I still love it. I just don't think that it loves me!
Then I bought an Epiphone Thunderbird. These basses seem to get a bad rap, but I've used mine for about 6 years and never once has it failed to deliver. Maybe I dropped on a good one! But today, the epi has been overshadowed by my latest purchase. My dream bass. A REAL Gibson Thunderbird (bought from this very site). I can't wait to plug this in my rig and rock-out!

Nice to meet y'all, and I look forward to conversing with you (and making fun of smelly drummers and stinky guitarists too!!)

JP

From me no less, JP travelled down to take the T-Bird off of my hands today, whilst gutted to see it go, I'm pleased that it's gone to a good home.

Welcome on board JP, thanks for the easy transaction, and it was a pleasure meeting you this morning.

Enjoy the fun!!!!
