RockfordStone Posted October 10, 2009 Share Posted October 10, 2009 hey guys, im after some advice im looking to get some new rig over the next few months and its gonna be expensive. im considering getting it insured against theft and breakage etc. some of my current stuff is insured under the house insurance, but obviously it dont stay in the house. im sure there is some kind of instrument insurance, just wondering if anyone knows any companies or has it themselves that can point me in the right direction. any help would be appreciated Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Alot of my stuff isn't covered due to the individual value. It was just easier to get stuff through a specialist musical instrument insurer - and they are very reasonable. xgsjx Posted October 10, 2009 Share Posted October 10, 2009 If you have personal belongings cover on your home insurance, it will cover your gear as long as it isn't for professional use. Some insurance companies let you specify dearer items or increase how much cover you need & is often worldwide cover against theft, damage & loss. Downside is that if you have to claim, it will affect your home insurance & make it dearer the following year. My gear is all covered under my home insurance.
