Beg to differ - I was in Denmark in 1963 and saw loads of sparkly basses & guitars in the musicshops in Copenhagen.

Italian manufacturers in the 60's applied the same finishing techniques and styles of accordions to guitars, resulting in this explosion of sparkle and mother-of-ashtray. And i love it.

If anyone cares, the only things the text says that's not obvious from the pics is that "it is in perfect working order", "the sound is very powerful (strong output?)". The text next to the italian flag says that the make, Meazzi, was a well established maker in the north of italy (unlike Eko and the likes), and they produced all sorts of musical kit up until a few years ago. They also distributed imported brands. I remember seeing Meazzi guitars and amps in my formative years back in italy...
