uk_lefty Posted Wednesday at 10:00 Posted Wednesday at 10:00 So I took a slight detour on the way to work yesterday and picked up this rather handsome but weighty unit. I fancied a 4x10 to replace my 2x15 cabs and ended up with a Warwick 4x10 and head. I had a Warwick Sweet 15 combo in the past and was very impressed with it so at the price this was a no brainer. It's been in the freezing cold overnight so I've brought it in to warm up before I test at my lunch break. Depending on how things go this could be... It's the best amp and cab ever, becomes my main rig, Ashdown rig goes on sale; Keep the cab, sell the head. Sell off my Ashdown NEO 15s and run my ABM600 into this cab; It's good but it doesn't beat the Ashdown, so it gets moved on to someone who will give it what it deserves 4 Quote
eude Posted Thursday at 15:04 Posted Thursday at 15:04 Looks good! Warwick's amps were always underrated for some reason, their original Wamp range back in the day was brilliant, massive range of stuff, very powerful and I never heard anything bad about them. I played through them as house rigs at gigs and rehearsal studios, and I thought they were fantastic. They made some very cool looking gear... Keep us posted on what you think... Eude 3 Quote
jonno1981 Posted Saturday at 20:31 Posted Saturday at 20:31 I always liked the amps but the cabs weren’t the best to my ears. Surprisingly quiet for the footprint. I hope it’s to your taste. Quote
TimR Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I have the 5.2. You need to push the gain as far up as you can, you almost want the 'clip' light just coming on most of the time. 1 Quote
Woodwind Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Let us know what you think of the amp and the cab. A criticism of this amp back in the day was that it didn't seem very loud, but this was apparently from people turning the knobs as they would on an amp they were used to ie judiciously. Don't be afraid to push the gain right up. Quote
Woodwind Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Just now, TimR said: I have the 5.2. You need to push the gain as far up as you can, you almost want the 'clip' light just coming on most of the time. Ha there we go. Tim typing exactly what I was saying at the same time 1 Quote
