Lightweight Tuners for AVRI Jazz

I’ve got a lovely AVRI 64 Jazz. It’s nice n light but a bit neck heavy. Can I get lightweight tuners that look like the original or is it a matter of me swapping them for mor modern looking lightweight things?

This is a set on my '65 Jazz. They are excellent.

How much lighter are these? I'm considering a set for my Jap 62 reissue Jazz (assuming they'll fit).

I can't tell you to the gram, but much is an appropriate word.

Closest I can find weights for are - the above are 61.8g each and the Schaller 70's type tuners (shorter stem but bigger button) are 102g each. Not very scientific I'm afraid.

Roughly half the weight. I have them on my Aerodyne. Is the bass of far east origin? If so, you may need the GB528

Check the shape and sizes of the GB 640 and GB 528 with your bass, my gut says you need the 640s, but my MIJ Aerodyne really needed the 528.  From memory the main difference, apart from the baseplate shape, is the headstock hole diameter. Mine has a painted headstock so I was nervous drilling i out.
